I'd write down my XI for Charlton and then pick the strongest XI from what's left.
Or...given plenty possibly first 11 lot didn't play on sat, and we have a free midweek after Charlton, I'd pick my best 433 from those who didn't start v Plymouth and see where we get to. Something like:
Dixon
Izzy - Aimson - Toal -John
Sheehan- MJ -Tomo
Sads - Baka - Dapo

I'd be putting Santos in the starting line up on the basis that he has to impress. This is by all accounts a match that we can afford to lose and should be having Santos in the starting line up to get through some game time without worrying too much. Sort of a settling of nerves of sorts.
Anything else i'd be hoping for some of the players on their way back from injury.
Dixon, John, Santos, Aimson, Isgrove, Sheehan, Thomason, Williams, Sadlier, Kachunga, Dad Bod

Has it been confirmed Isgrove and Sheehan are fit enough for selection tonight?

Bod still out though - sorry Mar.

I don't really get why people are suggesting starting Williams, Dapo, Santos et al. Aren't games like tonight's the type where we should be using our much vaunted squad depth, and holding our best players back for the likes of Charlton on Saturday?

Whatever squad we put out needs to win, and win well. Get that confidence going again, because Charlton are another tough test on Saturday.

Yeah, and TBF, normally I'd be with "squad" for this, but less sure atm, couple of fringe players might not go amiss, but I'd quite like a win (not that the two are mutually exclusive)Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 4:52 pm∆ and there in a nutshell, or rather two nutshells, is every manager's cup quandary.

Not a problem. I like all our striking options at the moment. Only time i'd really be questioning would be if he went with just Kachunga up top as he's best suited linking up with others.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 3:31 pmMentioned again at Plymouth.nicholaldo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 3:22 pmHas it been confirmed Isgrove and Sheehan are fit enough for selection tonight?

Well, he's gone strong and I like it.
It looks like a 3-5-2 to me, with Sadlier playing at No.10 and Dapo up front. I remember us switching to what was effectively two No.10s last season against Gillingham (I think we had Kachunga and Ameachi in there) and it was really effective so if Dapo did drop a little deeper I'd be interested in seeing how that plays out.

Not there tonight, as we've had our road closed for works. Probably means we'll win at a canter. A shame not to see Toal's debut live.

Well Christmas has come early. Nice to see the opposition making a mistake instead of us. Nice composure by Baka, didn't seem to have him under that much pressure but clearly the player panicked.
Surprised to see not one youth player getting on the bench. Would've thought we would've had at least one on the off chance it ends up getting comfortable.

Lovely counter-attacking move with Thomason and Jones combining on the right; poor ball by Jones goes behind Baka; their CB made a dreadful short pass right to Baka’s feet 10 yards out, who punished them with aplomb. 1-0 5 minutes in. That’ll do to settle the nerves.

Aimson seems a little wound up for some reason. Nice pressure up top. Clearly the opposition are a little rattled.

Another Crewe error just outside their box led to Baka playing through Sadlier, who probably should have squared it for Dapo, who was through. Went for the worldie far top corner. Not too far away.

Omg, Dixon. Went to collect a cross, bit of contact, and scooped it into his own net. That is—
