Feebly putting your hand up as you watch a man run past you isn’t about instruction. It’s just not doing your job.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 3:36 pmDefend as a unit and play offside as a unit. You can't expect a play to follow a tactic and then get chastised for following instruction simply because the other player has stolen a march on him due to a different player switching off.

It’s a problem Evatt sides seem to have we are just too streaky. We’ve gone from top 6 level performances to bottom 6. The lack of consistency is worrying, doesn’t make sense and probably isn’t conducive to being in the mix.

Declan John demonstrating why he’s not been near the side of late.

Feebly - is a matter of perspective and open to interpretation on that one
putting your hand up - what is instructed for playing an offside trap
Running past you - again, its exactly what was intended when you play offside trap
I'd argue what he's done is exactly what is required when playing the offside trap. Whether he's done it and timed it right would require checking the replay.
And Connor Wickham scoring for FGR. Would've thought he'd retired by now, turns out he's 29 with 13 years in the game so far. Guys had quite the longevity in the game.

The instruction is a high line with the press. To do so you need to hold that high line. You know this but think that Santos is at fault for Jone's inability to follow instructions and keep the high line, it's also all our fault for not falling in line with your skewed and absurd opinion.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 3:38 pmFeebly putting your hand up as you watch a man run past you isn’t about instruction. A high line with the press. They turned us out on the left and we were facing our own goal with no pressure on the ball. You have to defend that. And you know it too. You just won’t admit it. It was poor.DJBlu wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 3:44 pmThe instruction is a high line with the press. To do so you need to hold that high line. Get Kachunga off. Being good at pressing is not enough to merit a starting spot in a team with promotion aspirations.

I'd take Kachunga off for his own safety. This referee is hell-bent on not giving anything. That tackle was disgraceful.

I'm stunned the "instruction" is to put your hand up and not play the whistle. Really?

Kachunga has worked hard. So has Charles. Neither look at all dangerous and frankly I’m not sure either is good enough.
Wing backs both very poor today. Lack of pace and thrust in the side very very evident.
Needs a system change for me. We won’t get anything playing like this.

Not managed to catch the entire match, missed about a good twenty minutes. From what I did see there wasn't much in it.
Definitely not enough being created up top. We struggle on small pitches, or at least thats how its looking. Is it a formation thing thats causing us issues on this size of pitch?

Just change it, Evatt. Both the formation and the players.

Needs a change in system, we have to force the issue now. Halftime subs to go 433 - but mr stubborn won’t do it.

If he doesn’t come out with a back four then he definitely needs some help. No reason we shouldn’t have a 442 or 433 here. Three at the back isn’t working.

You cannot play off side with no pressure on the ball facing your own goal. Santos cannot even see the run in behind as he’s watching the ball and has no idea where the line is.
If that’s the plan it’s a shockingly bad one. When you are facing the right way it’s a different story.
