Declan John not in the squad again - he’s gone in Jan.

He’ll get pelters for that team if we don’t win. 4 Centre halves and a non goal scoring strike force. Best player dropped after two goes as a square peg in a round hole. Disappointed with it!

Eesh, the team seems to lack goals. Guess he’s hoping Lee-an’-Sheehan can pick those crucial final passes we’ve been missing. Bradley’s due a game, too.
COYW. Was a mascot against Oxford when I was 7. Won 2-1 that day. Would more than tek that again.

Maybe Evatt is keeping his promise that everybody will get a go? Risky, but who knows.

Not the team I’d expect (or pick) but COYWM

If we bomb the corners into the box we might just make use of them. Other teams do it with long throws..

It would seem that Evatt's gone with the whole high press, good work rate approach early on with Kachunga and Charles, with changing it late on when the opposition are flagging, hoping that JDB and Baka can take advantage.
Good to see Sheehan getting a run out. Lee, Kacha and MJ seem like a good spine to have for pressing with Sheehan, Bradley and Charles providing the cutting edge.

Baka isn’t in the 18 - “poorly”, says Dr Iles. But we do have Bod, Dapo and Sads as an oncoming trident.
Re: University Challenge. V Oxford, home 27-10 222. 3-0'clock.0-22
I do wonder if there's a contract situation going on with him. Almost as if the club have gone with the we're going to improve the wingback roles, so John will be down the pecking order and we're seeing a repeat of the whole situation we had with Liam Gordon.
We all know Evatt's a fan of attacking options over goalkeepers or defenders so it's hardly surprising we're only seeing 1 or 2 options on the bench. That being said, i'm sure there's plenty on the training ground we're not privy to, so maybe its just a case of Beck warrants it more.

Indeed. I missed the Baka omission, almost as if he's a shoe in given his last outing, i'm still playing catchup.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 3:17 pmBaka isn’t in the 18 - “poorly”, says Dr Iles. But we do have Bod, Dapo and Sads as an oncoming trident.
Double standards there with the Branagan and MJ booking. Getting a bit feisty this.

Hey up. 0-1.

Least we've given ourselves a good 70 mins to turn it around, save us leaving it till the last period.

That's the 2nd time they've targeted the goalkeeper's release. First one they didn't actually step across but you could see them making moves towards the player.

Basically it sounds like he was asked about John being out of the midweek squad and said “so was Beck, Beck’s been training hard, that’s what you have to do to get in the squad.” Come Saturday, Beck’s in the squad. Join the dots…Mar wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 3:20 pmI do wonder if there's a contract situation going on with him. We went 1-0 down to them at home last season - Taylor was offside - and won 2-1; if I recall, Doyle’s header off a Sheehan corner was our last set-play goal for months on end.

Days of speed and slow time Monday's
Pissing down with rain on a boring Wednesday
Watching the news and not eating your tea
A freezing cold flat and damp on the walls
Altogether now!

Yeah, that was the case. Not sure about the offside from Taylor's goal but the handball to control it should've been sufficient enough to rule it out, even if they discount the offside call.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 3:33 pmWe went 1-0 down to them at home last season - Taylor was offside - and won 2-1; if I recall, Doyle’s header off a Sheehan corner was our last set-play goal for months on end.

Same old 3-5-2 start?
Aye Evatt, lets not concentrate on it.
