Anything we get here will be won not given. Against the better teams, especially away from home, we're not invincible. We can but give of our best and play better football than our opponents. Our best game is good enough to do it, but the rest is in the ozone.

It's a bit of a weird cliche/truism. It implies that if you play well but lose in October that's somehow better than playing badly and winning then. Or at least less bad. In any one off game, of course you'd rather win than play well, but over a period of time you won't win many if your performance isn't good. I don't think we can get away with many more performances like Saturday.
I'm hopeful we'll see an improvement, Dion will come back in and we missed him a lot in the first half, and legs shouldn't be quite as tired. Draw.

This is one of those must win games if we're harbouring any serious thoughts around automatics. A mustn't lose if we're wanting to cripple the chasing pack for the play off spots.
Either way I suspect this'll be a hard game. Get through this and we should be looking up and not down.

B Team vs Huddersfield includes:
Litherland
Toure
Trialist
Tutte
Sackey
Khumbeni
Thomason
Frimpong
Sharples
Loureiro
Lockett
Subs: Dallimore (GK), Kamara, Burgess, Jones, Shakespear.
Am I to take it that our bench is almost back to a decent level now given that we're happily using Khumbeni and Thomason in the midfield for the B-Team on a first team match day. It's not like they'd be able to get down to warm the bench at Portsmouth after the game.

Thomason is for minutes to get him up to speed - Evatt said he's sat on first team bench thus far but wasn't ready for any first team minutes yet.Mar wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 2:25 pmB Team vs Huddersfield includes:

Played a lot earlier in season - the idea is that he’s player-coach

I'll be in and out tonight buy hopefully more in than out.

The bell end may be quiet tonight depending on whether this ban affects todays match. Fingers crossed.

Hoping some of the tired legs are recovered.

There’s a question mark after the initial string of numbers in the Twitter links, delete that as well aa everything after it and it’ll embed properly HG.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 6:58 pm[tweet]https://twitter.com/OfficialBWFC/status ... X2hfw&s=19[/tweet]
Strong line up
No complaints about the lineup, I can’t see us getting three points though…

Still gambling with one keeper, but if he stays uninjured, should be fine. As Bing Crosby had it:
You got to ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive
E-lim-i-nate the negative
And latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mr. In-between…
So, on that basis...COME ON YOU WHITES.....

Presumably that risk of one keeper is mitigated by the fact it would end up being just one match and worse case scenario is three points and a worse goal difference. The flexibility that we've had all season from having no keeper on the bench surely has given us plenty of additional outfield options that the decision is probably warranted.
I'm sure we'd all understand shipping a load of goals if we had an outfield player in net. Whereas bringing on a goalkeeper instead probably isn't likely to change proceedings.
