Jerome has now come in in every game bar Barrow, which he started, and Fleetwood, when Dion was sent off.sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2023 4:44 pmJerome for Vic. Strange one for me that is especially with JDB on the bench.
Bod, by contrast, has played just 14 minutes (plus added time).

Dan on for DIon. If he scores the third we'll know for sure our luck's turned

As it stands, all three relegated teams in the bottom half (Reading play at Cambridge tomorrow)

Despite averaging 2 goals a game, we don't look that threatening. Clearly we are, or have been, with our 1.76 xG for our first 5 games.
Hopefully nothing silly now and we see this out for a win.

Need to lock this one down now. Derby have really come back into it.

Baxter really doesn't like the ball at his feet. His body language screams hot potato.

In the league games before today we've had 16, 16, 9, 21 and 17 shots. Fleetwood the single-figure outlier.

A third would be nice for us, just to calm the old cockles.

Blackpool sneak up to 12th, but as it's by the hilarious means of going ahead against Wigan in the 90+4th minute we'll let them have itDave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2023 4:54 pmAs it stands, all three relegated teams in the bottom half (Reading play at Cambridge tomorrow)

We’re not seeing this out very well at all.

meanwhile, quite the action-packed added time for Oxford. Pity the poor sports writers on a deadline

Maybe that highlights my point? Plenty of chances, not very clinical? We're very, very good at getting the ball forward into areas where we can do something. It just seems like its sometimes a war of attrition rather than, few shots with lots of goals. Not intending to be critical, just seems like we're good based upon the number of chances we create rather than how clinical our forward line is.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2023 4:56 pmIn the league games before today we've had 16, 16, 9, 21 and 17 shots. Better ball by Maghoma there and we'd've possibly been seeing N'lundulu on the scoresheet.

Times up ref. Blow the whistle dammit!

Dan Nlundlu, what was that?
Nobody near him, loses possession and they get an attack in.

That'll do. A lot of effort and a good slice of luck sees us win.
We were comfortably the better side in the match. All the nerves prior to the match were alleviated. I think if Derby were to be seen as a benchmark game as to where we'll finish in the league then we can look very positively today.
Blackpool beating Wigan also good to see.
2nd place by virtue of GD. 2nd highest scorers in the league.

Deserved win, seeing the game out rather than being comfortably in front at the end.
Not good for the ticker but that's an outstanding result.
