Could be we're not sure about his injury so want to have a look for 6 months but risk him helping elsewhere. Could be he wants to see where we are in 6 months and see if he can play himself into a better offer.

Perm makes more sense, but there are reasons it might be a loan.
Yep - it’s possible he could go on loan while his contract lapses and everyone watches his form. If he’s good, Swansea could offer him terms in say April - although he could just reject them if he feels in a strong enough position.

I shall be keeping a keen eye out on 16:57, which seems to be our normal MO....(as opposed to OM)...

I think a loan is a much better move here. If he does well and we go up then we can see if that can be made permanent. But fitness issues would leave me wary of signing him permanent now.

Evatt mentions he can play either side in an emergency. Wouldn't expect a RWB to come in now

I'll take that. Ashworth, Iredale, Ogbeta and Williams (when fit) for the left side, JDC, Matheson, Ogbeta and Jones (when back) for the right.

Looking forward to the returns of Jones and Forrester to bolster our centre back options - think Toal needs a bit of time out of the firing line, personally. Not sure that we'll be looking at another centre back in the window - we've got, when everybody's fit, seven players for only three starting places. Even going into next season, if Ashworth doesn't sign on permanently, that only becomes six for three places. There's simply no space.

CMG needs to come back into the side and show why he became our marquee summer signing. Great to see Dempsey training in the most recent vid, but it's about time we had the spark that CMG should provide.

I’d expect him to play Williams on the right before Ogbeta.

Williams can play RWB as well can’t he? I certainly read Evatts comments as we aren’t signing another wingback. I wonder if we’ll see a midfielder as well next week.

Supposedly up to three next week. I’d guess striker, centre mid, centre back.

But could be even two strikers and a mid I guess.

Well done to the recruitment team for getting Ogbeta over the line, great signing if he can stay fit.

If this is true, looks like we're still after a centre back as well...

Ogbeta certainly making the right noises…

“It's only for the short term now but this is a great club and I'm just really excited. I really believe that the club is a Premier League club.

“I'd love to be part of something special. Obviously, I can't guarantee what's going to happen in the future but all I know is that while I'm here I want to give my all for the fans, for the club, and for the manager and hope that I will be part of something special while I'm here.”

As Insane says, a loan makes sense for both us and the player. The issue was always whether it meant sense for Swansea. Apparently so...

I've been in the lakes all day with patchy internet. Which comments?

Official site.

Last season he had a really impressive spell at Peterborough,” said Evatt. “His performances were excellent. He's very much the type of player we want and need for that position. He comes in to add competition for places and to make us better and I think he does that.

“We've probably needed to make this move more urgently because of the Randell scenario but that happens in football and that's not to say they can't play together at some point as I think either could play either side.

“It's an exciting one for us. Nathanael is a player we’ve looked at for the past couple of windows who wasn't available then. He’s available to us now and we've been lucky enough to make it happen.”

Quite excited about this one, even though I can't recall seeing him play. Ticks a lot of boxes on paper: young, athletic, good pedigree and local. We also have a good track record with Nats.
