The Kiwis are just counted as another state of Australia. I guess that's why they hate us, we also claim all their achievements as our own too.
And who the hell is Juan Fernandez?

I've gone off Australians a bit since my new (female) boss arrived from Brisbane a year ago. She is relentless. She also talks in ways we cannot understand. In a recent meeting when we were arguing with her she suddenly said: "I feel like a shag on a rock!" We weren't quite sure how to respond - one doesn't like to turn ladies down but it sounded uncomfortable. I didn't believe this was an Australian idiom with a different meaning from what we all thought, but it is. I googled it to make sure.
Now in order to be "European" one should let in lots of immigrants, which brings up the Australian immigration policy. I gather this is along the following lines:
I'd stick to the US if I were you, VI.

I'll admit the refugee thing is a bit shit. We do get insane numbers trying to get in though. I've never, ever heard anyone say 'I feel like a shag on a rock.' Keep in mind Queenslanders are often incredibly slow. And the Ashes are ours next series.
Villiage Idiot, don't let these douchebags discourage you, Aussies are alright. We're much more chilled than Americans, guaranteed.

I'd never heard it either and thought I was mishearing actually. Just type "feel like a shag on a rock" into google and be educated. I will believe anything abour Queenslanders after the last year (although I wouldn't say she was slow).Odelay wrote: I've never, ever heard anyone say 'I feel like a shag on a rock.'
