Re: My football club
umm, im not sure, i think it would be good if it was just fans of Ebbsfleet who could invest, people who actually know who they are voting for to play etc. its a bit pointless when you dont know who any of them are, and you never see them play, or train.BWFC_Insane wrote:I thought about it, but then decided is was a ridiculously stupid idea!General Mannerheim wrote:http://www.myfootballclub.co.uk/

Yeah thats true. However Ebbsfleet don't have 20,000 plus fans who would invest.General Mannerheim wrote:umm, im not sure, i think it would be good if it was just fans of Ebbsfleet who could invest, people who actually know who they are voting for to play etc. its a bit pointless when you dont know who any of them are, and you never see them play, or train.BWFC_Insane wrote:I thought about it, but then decided is was a ridiculously stupid idea!General Mannerheim wrote:http://www.myfootballclub.co.uk/

But for me thats by the by.
Even if every Bolton fan clubbed together to buy Bolton and have a similar system (but only the fans of the club) it would still be a complete disaster.
The majority of football fans are not qualified to pick teams, decide on tactics/formations, decide on transfers, decide on investments, decide on a clubs strategic plan for the future.
Those that are qualified to do so would realise that the amount of information they'd need to make an informed decision on anything would require a life filled with reading information provided by the club.
It would never work.
Bolton have a turnover of about 52M.
Put that in the hands of some of the mongalongs who post on the BN website or who sit near me in the ground? NO THANKS!

team and tactics picked by way of online vote - yeah that'll be a success.
My first suggestion would be sacking the manager as there's no point to his role in this structure.

Exactly, and who conveys the decisions to the players? And who coaches the tactics into them?communistworkethic wrote:team and tactics picked by way of online vote - yeah that'll be a success.

What if the coaches disagree with the fans decisions?
The whole idea is riddled with flaws.
I guess it goes back to the public perception that "anyone can pick a successful football team it's easy".
It really isn't that easy and the complexity of the decisions are appreciated by few.
