Agreed. I saw the topic in question, it was daft and innapropriate but I think the mods have got this one right. Fair play.seanworth wrote:While many might disagree, Zulu I commend you on your decision in this particular case. If it had been for some abuse against another poster then a permanent ban would certainly have been warranted. Get the feeling he probably had a few too many pints before that post, which of course I did not see so I shall shut up now.Zulus Thousand of em wrote:On reflection Bruno's ban will not be permanent. It will be for one month and it will expire on 21 December. Any further ban will indeed be permanent. Hopefully he will accept this opportunity. There won't be any more.

I'd agree with the new decision if he hadn't had several warnings, at least one months ban & then a final ban in his guise as Batman .... and then when he returned using another name he had a months ban prior to this one.Hobinho wrote:Sh*t he's coming back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Zulus Thousand of em wrote:On reflection Bruno's ban will not be permanent. Add to that the number of barely used new names which joined 6 months or so ago which have started using the site again since last weekend.
Still, the mods are the mods & put in a lot of effort, so I'll always respect even their incorrect decisions.
He'll blow it again. It's in his blood I'm afraid.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

There does appear to be some correlation between some bans and new members joining/old accounts becoming reactivated apace. Maybe it's just my perception.bobo the clown wrote:I'd agree with the new decision if he hadn't had several warnings, at least one months ban & then a final ban in his guise as Batman .... and then when he returned using another name he had a months ban prior to this one.Hobinho wrote:Sh*t he's coming back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Zulus Thousand of em wrote:On reflection Bruno's ban will not be permanent. I missed the offending article (since I haven't dared on since the Rovers game until today). Whatever the mods decide is fine with me though I'm glad that I did miss it - following the 0-2 it would have been too much for my elderly constitution.

So you say, but we have our suspicions...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:FWIW My sudden reappearance isn't anything to do with Bruno's absence, about which I'm only just discovering. Similarly, my disappearance didn't have owt to do with his posts. Merely being busy.
As usual, I stand by the mods' decision. They do their best at a job which may actually be impossible.

What's really irritating is that some users want to take the piss with a forum they've done nothing to help run. It's like trying to kick the breeze keeping the balance right so everyone is welcome, new and old. People misbehave, get a warning, misbehave some more and then effectively ask for a refund on something that didn't cost 'em anything in the first place.
It's a good job I don't run this forum or I would've just closed it down as it's too much of a headache trying to stop the rampant gobshites.
