What's Cardiff like?
I'm thinking of going to study there in the next year or two. Anyone been/lived there?

Same here. Can't believe they charged £5 to get into the bloody country. They've missed a trick there, they should charge on the way out...they could charge more!Gary The Beaver wrote:I was there if Feb. 2004 too. Cardiff .... city centre, castle area, revamped dock area, Torchwood. All v v nice.
Uni OK, but like most of Wales, is getting politicised with "Welshness".
Outside the city centre area, a pile of cack.
If you want to see the area in its glory pop up to Myrthyr Tyddfyl Simply the worst small town I've ever seen.
Then there's the language ..... have you got a few hours ??
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I did a season at Butlins in the '80's. Spent a lot of time round Criccieth and Pwhelli. I know where NOT to go.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Same here. AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH I hate, properly loathe stories like that. Stories that turn me into a daily mail reader. What is the cockfookingarseabiding point of that. Who the hell is getting offended. Christ. Honestly sack off these David Cameron billboards, as a nation we need a country full of massive posters saying CHILL. THE. feck. OUT. IT. IS. NOT.
