Red beard. Its not always full of bearded blokes, it does get quite a mix of clientèle but only on weekends usually.Lord Kangana wrote:Popped in The Brewery Tap yesterday for a swift one. Went with the pirate one (can't remember the name, the dead giveaway is the pirate on the pump). Cracking stuff. An absolute gem of a pub. Obviously full of bearded old blokes, but everyweheres got its downsides....

Yes, and I'm not selling them to the likes of you, before you ask.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Just tackling one of those myself - £1.29 in Lidl at the moment. I'll have the second one with a bowl of lentil and black pudding stew later.officer_dibble wrote:Proper mens drinks

Re: Ale
Just found this in bottles. Bright beer, no sediment. Perfect for transporting down to the in-laws over Christmas. Proper stuff to have with the turkey rather than the cheapo Belgian bier shite the f-i-l gets in. Just bought two cases - twenty four pints, that should keep me going. ha.

Got a few beers off a friend for my birthday last week, had this one on Christmas eve:

It was strong but not in a bad way where sometimes they can leave a bad after taste. Really good flavour although a little unusual.

Re: Ale
I got a few bottled beers as Christmas presents. Most were from the German markets in Bolton but I received two 'Miserable Git', one 'Old Fart' and another Old Peculier.
I think I got the Old Fart last year. I'm sure it was made by someone who knows nothing about beer, in their spare room.

Was in Sweden over new year. Over there store-bought alcohol is under government control and you can only get them in government stores, known as Systembolaget. I thought they would be reet dives and you could only get standard stuff. I was rather wrong! Basically any consumable alcohol product under the sun was there. They were even selling brew dog and sam smiths ffs. With this plethora of choice I, of course, being the cultured person that I am, I got a few cans of generic lager to welcome in 2013.

I'm really in to my IPA's at the moment after being given some for my birthday.
There's a place in Manchester called BrewDog, there's a few in the country, has anybody been down? I've not had chance myself so was chuffed to find Tesco had a couple in. The Punk IPA was really nice.
