Going up the Rs
Rather advanced warning for the trip to QPR a fortnight tonight, but for a reason: I'm told the West London Groupon scheme is offering £25 tickets for £14.50. I assume they're in the home end but it may be an option for someone.
As it happens, I think I'm going to this one anyway...

Re: Going up the Rs
Looking forward to a midweeker in this that London - I should warn that QPR have got a scheme to try to charge you £5 extra to sit directly behind there goal rather than slightly le or right of the goal. Do not be fooled as the end holds 1800 fans and there I doubt we will sell half of that so rather than pay £30 to sit right in the centre (referred to as Gold) of the stand pay £25(referred to as silver) to sit slightly to the side of the goal then move to directly behind the goal when you realise the end is going to be half empty.

The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Also there are no "away friendly" pubs in the near vicinity to the ground so would recommend drinking somewhere near ST Pancreas/ Euston if you getting the train down.

Re: Going up the Rs
On that point I reckon QPR has the best view from an away end I think I've ever been to.

Re: Going up the Rs
Most likely be off to this one too. Agreed that the view in the top is pretty great and close.

Re: Going up the Rs
this will be my first away game this season, i havent done many home tbf.
will be drinking adjacent the ground. my mate lives round the corner, plus theres a couple of qpr in here that ill travel over with.
Such is the gap between myself and the club these days - i didnt even check our result from last weekend untill sunday! ive never done that before in my life. hopefully this'll inject some mojo back into it for me...

Re: Going up the Rs
I'm with CAPS - thought Athers was taking the p*ss. Have only ever been in lower tier here, on one occasion watching a Bolton team with four left-backs. (We lost.)

Re: Going up the Rs
Ive seen us play QPR and Fulham there, always upper. never really regarded it as either or. just meh. do like proper grounds tho.
Re: Going up the Rs
I'll be there, hopefully with Kinty and Crayons (??). Mate who recently left our place is a QPR fan so hopefully there'll be somewhere close enough we can get a drink.

Re: Going up the Rs
I'm passing on this great opportunity but in the past it's been the Springbok (think that's now home only and it was shite) or something on SB Green - ONeills?

Can recco a splendid Polish restaurant in Shepherd' Bush called Patio, if anyone's looking for a nosebag. Looks absolutely nowt from the outside, but it really is very good indeed.

Re: Going up the Rs
A restricted view has surely got to be better. Then you don't have to see as much of it.
Might even miss the excessive celebrations as Dave Clement scores a hat-trick for them.

Re: Going up the Rs
Worst match I ever went to was when QPR had an artificial pitch. The view, as Capslock quite rightly states, was like looking through a letterbox and as the ball bounced ridiculously high on the artificial pitch I spent about 89 of the 90 minutes not seeing anything in fecking particular.CAPSLOCK wrote:I take it you've never been an away fan in the lower section

Not the 7-1?
I've done the lower tier twice, once around 95 and the other Okochas debut

Re: Going up the Rs
Tell you the truth I can't remember what the score was exactly but something horrible like that. I'm having trouble remembering which year, but it was before I went abroad, so around 1982ish.CAPSLOCK wrote:Not the 7-1?

Re: Going up the Rs
You couldn't see the ball in the air. you couldn't see half the fecking pitch. About the only thing I could see was whenever a tackle came flying in and the players came skidding off the horrible plastic mat they were playing on and you could see a bunch of legs heading towards your head. The view I had was so restricted that technically it wasn't a view at all.jaffka wrote:You watch the ball when its in the air?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Worst match I ever went to was when QPR had an artificial pitch.
