That is really crap. I got 25% UKip, 25% Lib Dems, 25% Labour and 25% Conservatives. How the hell am I supposed to choose now?Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Don't know if anyone has seen this, but well worth taking the survey and seeing 'who you should vote for'.

yes - sarcasm, Hoboh! The pope ruling such a thing out is just as utterly obvious as Clegg saying he won't go into a coalition with farage! so obvious as NOT to be a shock breaking news announcement...Hoboh wrote:I thought Catholics were against gay marriagethebish wrote:in our next shock breaking news announcement....

Re: Politics, The Election May 2015
It rather tickled me that a certain parties policy on Europe (and I'm guessing in my own mind who it is) criticises the EU because it is dealing with 1950's issues..... and then goes on to suggest a solution based on the Commonwealth. And doesn't have the phrase "only kidding" at the end of it.
Anyway, I found the whole thing fascinating, theres not one single party that doesn't have some redeeming policy or other.
Anyway, I'm 75% Green and 25% Lib Dem apparently. Though I have to say that this was slightly skewed by me having to choose the 4 original categories (I chose Democracy, NHS, Environment and Europe), and from then on it was always probable that those two parties would score favourably.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Chuka Umunna. Needs to go, fairly sharpish. I've never yet seen or heard him answer a straight question. Complete liability (marginally less so than Milliband, but only by virtue of the fact he's not as "senior")
Re: Politics, The Election May 2015
aye... I can't but help thinking there is/was a HUGE opportunity here for Labour and they simply haven't got the nerve to offer a bold, imaginative program.. Chuku Umunna is the very embodiment of that gently-as-she-goes/try-not-to-ever-say-anything-definite-for-fear-we-might-change-our-minds-if-someone-gets-upset mentality that is serving up a bucketload of mindless/meaningless pap-policy.Worthy4England wrote:Chuka Umunna. Just watched dispatches on 4, low pay Britain, looks like Dave's job boom is a load of bollocks and actually costing the revenue hard cash.

We have f*cking loads of in-work benefits now. I for one would like to know why.

again - this is NOT news!!!Hoboh wrote:Just watched dispatches on 4, low pay Britain, looks like Dave's job boom is a load of bollocks and actually costing the revenue hard cash.
Tory ministers talk about "hard working families" and "people on benefits" as if they were mutually exclusive. They aren't! The hard working families often hold down 3 or 4 jobs between them - and STILL need benefits to top up their income...

Now't to do with that they reckoned Tesco's contracts cost the inland revenue £100 million pound in employers national insurance contributions per year.thebish wrote:again - this is NOT news!!!Hoboh wrote:Just watched dispatches on 4, low pay Britain, looks like Dave's job boom is a load of bollocks and actually costing the revenue hard cash.

And just for good measure some internet company warehouse employees are provided by an agency, from overseas who pay them £4 odd per hour because they class them as apprentices! So much for cheap EU labour not existing then.

Had to verify this from other sources before being sure it wasn't an attempt to break into The Onion style reporting.

Also, this Universal Basic Income, has anyone had a proper look at it yet. My off the cuff reckon is that it's one of those things that sound brilliant but would cost far too much to be efficient, but I reckon someone should have a look because, if not, it's brilliant, no?
