Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I thought a few had said that they weren't bothering with it this year. I can't think of a single item that I need so desperately that I'd be prepared to exchange blows for it.thebish wrote:shops can feck off with this whole "Black Friday" bollocks. that's all!
This is Black Friday in Bacup, by the way!

Can get some good deals online. But I agree it is Americanised nonsense. Nothing against shops having a sale. But this happens all year round. And every year significantly in January.Bruce Rioja wrote:I thought a few had said that they weren't bothering with it this year. We don't need an extra special named day for shops to lower their prices.
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
i had a "black friday" email from Halfords... i must dash down there now!!!
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I'm always dissapointed by Black Friday. It feels like absolutely the sort of thing I should be getting annoyed about, but I never do! I avoid shopping in person wherever possible so another excuse not to go seems fine to me, and as BWFCi points out you can get some awesome stuff on-line. I'm hoping for a PS4 and a new mobile, and have a new credit card at the ready for it. If companies want to give me those for dirt cheap without me having to leave the sofa, I'm all for it!

F*ck George Osbourne with his "live within your means" nonsense! I'm getting the economy going again.
Also, credit cards are ace. I totally can afford this.

Hmmm. Just been asking in the office about this. A colleague's Mrs is waiting for Black Friday to buy a specific camera. She may as well just make them an offer for it now - save on getting walloped in the thorax and what have ya!

It wasn't but that looks decent. There was one at argos with call of duty and fallout 4 for £279. Deal ended today though and credit card is only in the post dammit. Will keep an eye out over the next week.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Black Wednesday. I got a letter from Virgin Media today cooly informing me that my bill will be increased by £3-50 per month as of very soon. This of course is in thanks for the superfast broadband I now have, which in actual fact is no different than last time they put the cost up. Seems they just think of a number every so often and send out a "please yourself" arrogant letter.

At least you don't pay £150 a month for throttled broadband and tv with all the best bits (not that there are many) cut out

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I'd had enough the last time and contacted them. I did have the Big Kahoona, or whatever they call it, but dropped the films and lowered the broadband speed. It didn't save much and I'm still paying around £100 a month. And incidentally, they dropped the broadband speed but it actually speeded up! I measured it before and after and I gained considerably.Hoboh wrote:It's the last rise I'm taking from them as well.TANGODANCER wrote:Black Wednesday. I do like Virgin though and would never go back to Sky.

Gasp !!
£100pm (I guess £150pm in Sandland, but you take swings & roundabouts). I thought buying a 'Now! ' box was extravagant.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Erm, this is for TV (in glorious HD) including all my sports, fast broadband, telephone line and all my calls at any time of day. It was £134 before I rebelled but I thought £100 was a fairly reasonable deal for all that. Clearly I'm wrong.
