Re: Summer 2020 transfers

Good work. Baptiste would do a job at this level I am sure. For me we need someone with experience in that backline.

Re: Summer 2020 transfers

Great signing. Statement of intent. I think there is even something in it that he is the first one we have re-signed - the best footballer in our side last year by a mile. I’d be up for keeping Lowe and Remi next I think. Can’t see Bryan dropping down a level, albeit I agree with DSB that players ar...

Re: Summer 2020 transfers

Yeah - both pretty new to the world of football. It’s Phoenix I want to understand more about - but just becAuse he isn’t a ‘proper football man’ doesn’t mean he can’t be a success. Doing things our own way has worked for us before.

Re: Summer 2020 transfers

I’m not sure giving away his budget is the most sensible thing to do??? Couple of pieces with TP in the BN today. I hadn’t seen much from him before. Interesting reading.

Re: Pies in administration

It’s just laziness isn’t it. Most people still think old Dave ‘broke my leg’ Whelan still owns it.
There is a times piece on that Rick Parry Story as well. Behind a paywall, obvs. I think there is a lot more to come on this one.

Re: Pies in administration

https://www.wigantoday.net/sport/football/wigan-athletic-soap-opera-takes-another-staggering-twist-2902535 I think the story is the new ‘owner’ is involved with a Far East betting syndicate and needs them to get relegate, so their upturn in form has meant they have taken matters into their own hands??

Re: Summer 2020 transfers

We can still only sign free transfers and I don’t think we will do without knowing how long we are paying them for with limited income. See Athletic,Wigan. Having said that it feels like a good summer to be under an embargo, if that makes sense. I think everyone will be operating on frees and loans ...

I would say this is one of the better times to be under a transfer embargo of just free transfers...

Re: Pies in administration

As I said the majority of clubs fans were decent with us...of course every club has bell ends. But little old Wigan and the bin men had the majority panning is for years, signing songs about it, turning up to get their photo with Nat etc...what goes around comes around dickheads!

Re: Pies in administration

Ah yes
Lawrence. Seemed like a top bloke. I’ll get onto the Jewish Telegraph.

I hope they survive...but only after 11 seasons of shit, and a few relegations.

Re: Pies in administration

I saw plenty of their lot celebrating our demise. Same with Tranmere. Majority of other clubs fans showed themselves as decent folk. I certainly won’t shed a tear. Interesting question now is points deduction this season or next - I suspect they are confident it’s next season. But yeah - first of a ...

Re: New Manager Thread

Any ideas on how many of those Barrow regulars are out of contract? Wouldn't surprise me if one or two pitch up here. They'll all be based locally and they know the system. What’s the gulf like between the two leagues? Should be quite a bit but it seems like a lot of clubs are pro down there now?

Re: New Manager Thread

Surely we have the best chance at being allowed supporters in a ground in that league from September? Is that fair? Well we paid for the ground and carry the overheads...fingers crossed we can get in there and be given the chance to give our lot home advantage... Be nice if we were virus free by the...

Re: New Manager Thread

Be like match day for every opponent this season I’m afraid - they assume it’s Bertie big bollocks BWFC and fancy having a pop back...

‘Club negotiates manager compensation’ isn’t as good a headline.
