Thomason captain then? Can’t have done much for santos confidence?
Not sure it will affect him, as it’ll be his own decision

Controversial question: How many of us wouldn’t mind a defeat on Saturday if it led to Evatt being moved on?

Overall I’d rather we won, but I definitely wouldn’t be too upset if we lost and it precipitated a change.
Nope. Never.

He also says: I know a lot of the lads are privileged to be coached by him compared to coaches they have had in the past, and he has given a lot to us as players, brought us on a lot. “I would personally hate to see him go, but I am not one to sway decisions or comment on things like that because it...

Re: Grassroots Footy

Still playing at 36! For the uni old boys team. Joined 12 years ago when I moved back to the smoke. Hated the captain so started a new then 6s. We built a good side, made some mates for life. We got promoted up becoming the 3s then COVID severed our links with the uni and lots of people lost the ha...

I think it's got to a point where Evatt and his team need to go AND the captaincy has to be given to someone else as well. Santos has never been captain material.
He tried passing the captaincy on this weekend, but missed and gave it to a Huddersfield player

Re: The ianevattable sacking

I personally don't think we'll be anywhere near a relegation fight. My concern is not the bottom end of the table, it's not getting into the playoffs

Grassroots Footy

Anybody involved in it in any way? Parent, player, coach etc.. Let's have your stories and and updates in here. Personally, I stopped playing 11-a-side when I hit 32. Took a lot of my weekend up, both in terms of playing time and the fact that I'd feel like I'd been hit by a bus on Sundays as my bod...

Re: The ianevattable sacking

If true, I wonder how the captaincy impacts Santos? Does he spit his dummy out and it sees the end of him in the team (which I sincerely hope is not the case, as when on form he's a cracking player), or does he see it as a weight off and relaxes back into the player that he was...... I imagine Sant...

Re: Terriers Barking, But Can Bolton Bite Back? - Bolton v Hudderfield - 14/09/2024 @ 3pm

I trust your analytical views more than my emotional ones. But the view my actual eyes see is one I trust on this case. He's not quick, he's not strong, he's not aggressive. He hides the ball quite well when he's turning to pass it backwards though - He's just another player who's technically ok but...

Re: Terriers Barking, But Can Bolton Bite Back? - Bolton v Hudderfield - 14/09/2024 @ 3pm

If he's not gone for the next game, you hope it's roll the dice back to a back four. We don't have the players to play an ideal 433, but we do have the players to play a serviceable one and good players too. If he has any chance, then it's with a 433, sort the basics, get on the the detail once the...

Re: Terriers Barking, But Can Bolton Bite Back? - Bolton v Hudderfield - 14/09/2024 @ 3pm

Shambles. The worst performance yet from one of Evatt's teams. Not one single player won their battle against their opposite number. As much blame as you can lay on the manager (and you can and should), he can't do it for them. They didn't tackle, they didn't pass, they didn't track runners. Every s...

Rumour is its Liam Cooper ex Leeds CB
He's been plagued by injuries hasn't he? So yeah, that sounds about right!

Played 79 games in 4 years, which doesn't seem that bad, but he's missed at least 81 games in the same period

He'd have been better just not saying anything. Keep it a secret. Now missing out on ambitious signings to teams who can out-spend us is "a monumental cock up and a half"

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....

If he played this weekend and got injured due to not being up to speed or whatever, you'd have panned him for not giving him the minutes against Barrow.

I think at this stage, you've just got tunnel vision with Evatt and every decision he makes and every word he says, to you, is the wrong thing.

So Tutu out for 6 weeks with a knee injury. One Evatt described after the game as ‘nothing to worry about’.

A meaningless and pointless cup game. Well done.
Are you blaming the manager for the player being injured in a match?

Just found:

Duff has faced Ian Evatt more than anyone else in his managerial career, winning two, drawing four and losing three of their nine meetings between December 2020 and March 2023.

So Evatt has more wins v Duff - Hmmmm

Duff has a touchline ban. Would love to see the stats for Duff v Bolton from a managerial standpoint, because I keep hearing how he's got Evatt's number
