Re: Who opened the door? My money is on Janus! 2024 January transfer thread.

I can see us going for somebody who can provide cover at RCB / RWB - Can Forrester do it? Is that enough? Would also like us to see if there are any striking upgrades out there too. If somebody comes available who is a serious player for the level and can get us over the line, we need to take it. Je...

Re: Stoking the fires. Home to Port Vale defending our trophy...Tues, 5th Dec 7-45.

Well, I don't think we played very well and rode our luck at times in the 1st half. Don't ever think the result was in doubt, but we looked disjointed and a bit sloppy until we changed the midfield. Dempsey stood out in the 1st half though. More of a 2nd string than we played on Saturday, but a win ...

So presumably that means Dion and Vic up top for an hour or so.

Re: A whiff of Sulphur. Home to Harrogate Town, Sat Dec 2nd 3'O clock. F. A. Cup.

I'm much more interested in qualifying for the third round of the FA cup than I am in defending the EFL trophy, so I'd definitely go stronger tomorrow than on Tuesday. A potential away game at a big Prem team is a big incentive for both fans and club (cue Fleetwood at home if we get through). That ...

Thomason doesn't look like he needs a rest. Seems the sort who can play and play and play

I think Williams needs a good hour on Saturday, then 75 or so next Tuesday and see where he is for the following Monday - We do have the luxury of an extra 48hrs of rest after Port Vale compared to normal

Re: A whiff of Sulphur. Home to Harrogate Town, Sat Dec 2nd 3'O clock. F. A. Cup.

He'll be desperate for a decent 3rd round draw, so I reckon we'll go pretty strong here and potentially rotate on Tuesday Baxter JDC, Jones, Santos, Toal, Williams Thomason, Sheehan, Maghoma Bodvarsson, Charles Tuesday night Coleman Matheson, Jones, Toal, Iredale, Williams Morley, Dempsey, Mendes Go...

Re: The Rest of League One 23/24

There's a video from a side angle. The striker stops in front of the keeper, who then initiates the contact before going down like a sack of shite. He jumps slightly forward into the striker. Prick

Play acting. Glad they gave it. Hopefully it'll make them think twice about the way they sh*thouse their way through matches. Detestable team with absolutely no endearing qualities whatsoever. Being cheats is ingrained in their DNA as a club, so for that reason. F*ck em

Re: Whatever floats your boat.. V Oxford United, Tuesday 28th Nov.7-45.

First half, a little passive and whilst we weren't helped by a referee hell bent on disrupting the game whenever he could, we never really found any passing rhythm. We weren't the only team on the pitch though, so fair play to Oxford who broke well and had the better of the 1st half Second half, a d...

Well, well, well. Killer instinct and some great football played. They were dire. But we beautifully punished them for it. Everyone played their part and goals from all over the pitch is really encouraging and becoming a big part of our season. George Thomason. What an improvement. I liked him, but ...

Re: Beware of Grecians bearing gifts. Home v Exeter City, 25th Nov. 3-0'clock.

Cue angry people when JDB is on the bench again 2pm Saturday… hope he gets some decent game time but I certainly get the logic in starting Victor still. Agreed, but we could do a reverse of this and try for a couple of early goals with JonBod, then turn Vic loos to antagonise the defence. Doesn't q...

Any news on Dion? Went off injured on Monday after a slide tackle and I've not heard anything since. Hopefully no news is good news and expect he'd be back in training today

Presser usually Thursday morning, for Saturday game isn't it?

Re: Tonight's Football

The main issue will be logistics. Whilst we all think the world is awash with Trans people, the reality is very different. There is not enough demand to create teams / leagues / associations for Trans people and Trans athletes, which is why they're in limbo, so to speak. You could feasibly have a nu...

Re: Tonight's Football

It's a fierce fight for Women athletes that a lot of them can't discuss for fear of being 'cancelled' and I know that makes me sound like a gammon, but it does have truth to it. People have lost sponsorships for speaking out against Trans Athletes competing in their category. That female college swi...

It's certainly a risk, but Maghoma could be key to us unlocking a deep lying defence. Especially at home. He'd be a big miss at Oxford though as the majority of our success could come during quick transitions... Maybe just one to keep an eye on, but I suspect it will definitely come into Evatt's thi...

Re: Tonight's Football

My daughter and another girl recently trialled with the 'Boys' team at their school. They both got into the team on merit, so they re-named it the Mixed team. To much disgust by some of the lads.
