Re: Vale of tiers: Port Vale (H), Division Four, Sat 6 Dec @ 3pm

They deleted a load of old MySpace accounts about a year ago. A lad I play football with's emo/metal bands from his teenage years, Molten Slag and Dirtee Urges were sadly lost forever. Excellent names, but the best I've seen was a death metal band which used to play at the Alma called Nonce Piss. M...

I will, of course, be following our game very closely on the socials. Well, get you! :D Did you like that one? I thought I'd throw it in to demonstrate that I might be middle aged, but I'm still down with the yoof. I watch iplayer too, y'know. :D What's your MySpace profile? I did have a MySpace a/...

There were two of the Newcastle lads who looked handy. Forgotten their names like.

Malcolm McDonald and Alan Shearer?

Re: Vale of tiers: Port Vale (H), Division Four, Sat 6 Dec @ 3pm

Living in a tier 2 area, I will be at an actual live game on Saturday (national league). However, I will, of course, be following our game very closely on the socials. Despite their poor run and our good one, Vale are only 3 pts behind us and have a one goal better GD. Because all good (and bad) thi...

I think it's three clean sheets from four now.

That's more than Lever End has managed

Re: Making HMS YouKnowWhat ship-shape: Winter 20/21 transfer thread

. Having signed in summer, Bolton-born former Huddersfield goalkeeper Joel Coleman (age 25) has only been in the matchday squad twice for Fleetwood, but it remains to be seen as to whether they'd lend us another keeper if we send them back a badly bent Crellin. They bloody well should. For free. Al...

Re: Making HMS YouKnowWhat ship-shape: Winter 20/21 transfer thread

I’d definitely take Matthews back, but I suppose we either declined to offer him a contract or he turned us down in the summer, so perhaps that ship has sailed. I suspect the latter is most likely. But, I don't think that would rule out a return. He'd get first team football at a club he knows well...

Re: Pragmatism vs Perseverance

Quick turn around v the bin dippers. Be nice to be back in the ground for the home game. As it's on Sat 19 Dec, Bolton is in Tier 3, tier-3 places aren't allowed fans and there isn't a tier review scheduled until Wed 16 Dec, it's very unlikely unless rates drop fast and far enough to prompt a revie...

Re: The only way is up!!! Down the Southend of things.

We should be able to keep the (Dr) feelgood factor going for this game. Famous last words, but this should be a comfortable 2 or 3-nil win.

Re: Returning to the ground

If you could test people on their way in, it could be a way to capture these people who are supposedly avoiding testing so as to avoid being told to isolate. But then if your not going to do it to go to work would you do it to go to the match? Might be a way of getting the mass testing off the grou...

The man who put the Ken Anderson in Scunthorpe? It was an open goal. :D A marvellous effort on the thread title. I went last time in the faltering stage of our promotion season. Parked up next to a boarded up McDonalds, watched us lose 1 nil, got food poisoning from a manky half time hotdog, missed...

S-Ken Anderson-horpe Utd away - Tue, 24 Nov, 7:00pm

This will be harder than it looks. Like us, Scunny are having a decent mini-run of form: two wins and a draw in their last three in the league. I'll be happy with a point here and then three v Southend on Saturday.

Re: Evatt has a bag of Revells to contend with. Who'll turn up? Stevenage Away 21/11/2020 3pm

Interesting as to what difference the five-subs rule might make. Remember Evatt hasn’t always even made three subs – he didn’t against Bradford in the cup, Colchester, Barrow and Cambridge, and against Bradford in the league he didn’t bring on Darcy until injury time – but then he hasn’t always had...

Re: Sal-Destroying. Home. Friday 13th. 7:45. On the tele.

In 1893, we had consecutive games against Arsenal, Aston Villa, Accrington and Aardvark United. FACT. Was that last game at the long forgotten Aardvark Park? Yes indeed. Arthur Blinkinsop scored a hat-trick for us in a 5-5 draw. Billy Crellin was in goal. The "A" sequence was broken when we drew Ba...
