Don't worry. Some fecker'll jump up and produce an obscure FA rule that says Liversausagepool's defeats aren't counted and they were Euro champions and should have an automatic top six place. As an aside. Can anyone remember the name of the slum district of Liverpool, okay the slummiest district of Liverpool in the post war years. Frankie Vaughan was supposed to have been brought up there. Carry on.

Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

The Piggeries fit's that bill. Tho NOT by the river & NOT where Frankie Vaughan was born.Gravedigger wrote:Thanks but not that. If I remeber correcly it wasn't an actual name, more of a nickname for the area. Think it bordered on the river.
It was an area of high rise flats in the Everton area of town.
Now ... what do you think is being said here ?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

I know the area a little because I canvassed it on cold October nights during the second general election of 1974. It was a feckin grim place in the dark and wet.Gravedigger wrote:Thanks, Blanco Billy. Now how the F*** could I forget The Dingle. Put it down to old age. Thanks for other suggestions also.
My candidate - for the Workers Revolutionary Party - got about 500 votes so that was really well worth the effort.
