I'm sorry, but what they did is unnacceptable.
As for the thing. For a start it should never have been let go this far. Burley apparently caved into player pressure to have them on the bench instead of suspending them, but I'm sorry, if being a nob was a reason to suspend footballers, there'd be none left. The children argument doesn't work. How many time have you seen Rooney gesticulating, shouting and swearing . Life ban? Noooo. Footballers drink driving. Footballers being charged with affray. They should be punished, but to me, a life ban is MENTAL.

Surely a life ban is only until whoever handed it out changes their mind, my dear Prufrock. It could be changed next month.Prufrock wrote:You can't even spell my name correctly!!FD wrote:How many children will have seen and read about what they did Profrock?

"If you cannot answer a man's argument, all it not lost; you can still call him vile names. " Elbert Hubbard.
Very true, but surely that cheapens the idea of such a thing, and makes it a farce. For what it's worth, each may well have played their last game for both Scotland and Rangers, but only because neither is young, but is anybody honestly arguing that their admittedly stupid and punishment deserving actions are so much worse than anything footballers get away with normally to deserve a life ban? They need a bollocking and their feeting dragging back down to earth, but a life ban for behaving like spoilt children...puhlease.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Surely a life ban is only until whoever handed it out changes their mind, my dear Prufuck. Should Ferdinand be banned for life for screaming down the ear of Alan Green following match long taunts the other day? (for my money he should be knighted). Both were responding to journalistic provocation, both reacted. Admittedly F&McG had already behaved like fools, but a life ban is so far off the scale.

Though that said they're still both idiots.

I'm normally loathe to use the group of letters 'lol', but in this case I did laugh out loud. Very good Uncle Monty.

The life ban was from the SFA not Burley.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Surely a life ban is only until whoever handed it out changes their mind, my dear Prufrock. Back to ludicrous overeaction then. What are your views on it as a sweaty, Fatty (I sound horrible there!), has everyone calmed down north of the border or should they still be hung drawn and quartered?fatshaft wrote:The life ban was from the SFA not Burley.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Surely a life ban is only until whoever handed it out changes their mind, my dear Prufrock. H, D & Q. Right decision, although the general opinion is that Watty only acted as he did becasue he wants rid of Ferguson in particular, and has chosen a populist issue to get the (Hun) fans behind him against a generally popular player. Seems Le Guen was right, but his timing wasn't. Ferguson and his drinking club run Ibrox, he tried to change it and lost, this issue might have given Walter the chance to do something about it.Prufrock wrote:Back to ludicrous overeaction then.
