Re: Tonight's Football
Allardyce was generally an absolute embarrassment when he used to bang on about referees, post match. His "Mike Riley caused a riot" number after Blackburn away has me cringing even now! However, how could he ever be faulted for his Knight assessment?

Re: Tonight's Football
Allardyce was an embarrassment at times. Agreed. His "Mr Angry" performances became so frequent they lost anything like credibility.
The Barry Knight one was exceptional ... and justified.
Mourinho is a posing, prancing, prick. Nothing he does isn't with a view to watching himself doing it. He IS a bully & he cares nothing for the people he deals with.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Cos if you mean refs then I'd absolutely agree.
If you mean the players he manages then I couldn't disagree more. I'd say few managers in history have been as loved by their core players as Mourinho has been.

I don't think that your footballing history goes back that far.
To name a few quickly would include Gradi, Ferguson, Clough, Revie, Shankley. That's just in this country. There will be many more.

Re: Tonight's Football
Can I refer you to the time he accused Reading, their staff, their doctor, their St. John's Ambulance people of incompetence and damn near murderers when Cech fractured his skull in an accidental coming together with Hunt. They had all acted with great speed and care, but he laid into them. It was utterly disgraceful.
Or to the time he was banned from the ground due to his misbehaviours and got himself sneaked in....
Or when he laid into a clubs ball-boy for not being quick enough to return the ball. Not an oblique, irritated reference, but a direct hurling of targeted abuse.
Also something about an awards night when he messed Chelsea about ... can't recall the details but again, he was a preening, self obsessed prick.
These are off the top of my head, there will be many more.
This is how he treats the small people. I don't give a flying fck how he treats his multi-millionaire cossetted players. Your class is shown in how you treat the small people. He's a c*nt.

Kind of silly though, it's widely known how close his players at Porto, Inter and Chelsea were to him.
Not at Madrid though. Perhaps he told them everything they'd ever won was through cheating and he was going to make them an honest side ?

Six players then. Slightly over a half a team. Brilliant.BWFC_Insane wrote:http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2022 ... e-mourinho" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Bruce Rioja wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:By people he deals with, who do you mean?bobo the clown wrote:Allardyce was an embarrassment at times. Re: Tonight's Football
I don't think it's that controversial to suggest that Mourinho is the kind of manager who somehow fosters a fierce loyalty in his players - I thought it was a fairly generally repeated theory about him... BWFCi didn't say he's the only one - but one of a few... it might not be objectively true - that'd be quite hard to quantify and prove - but it is part of what people generally think about Mourinho and his teams? no? I thought it was, anyway..
doesn't change the fact that mourinho is a preening, irritating, cock... I've never really got the media wankfest over him - all the "oooh Mourinho - at least press conferences will be interesting" bollox - same as i didn't get it with Holloway...

Er, yes. What they all said.BWFC_Insane wrote:Could I ask what your reaction to Allardyce doing the exact same thing here was? Specifically when he went on one after Knight's performance at Ipswich. And then later when he submitted a DVD and dossier of evidence, to the FA or Premier League, I can't remember which, complaining about referee performance?LeverEnd wrote:Scripted because I think he prepared to say them as soon as a result went against him. Like he did when he turned up after losing to Barcelona with a raft of statistics about how Barcelona were the beneficiaries of some refereeing plot to help them win.a1 wrote:it what way was i pre-scripted ? he sed it straight away, then said it again later in the linked video. possibly repetative, but not scripted.LeverEnd wrote:
Brilliant? Really? Pre-scripted pathetic bullshit. Agree with Bish, he's an embarrassment at times. Clearly a brilliant manager but gives every indication of being a complete cnut as a person. A bully and a coward.
he praised them, thats what they want. should have gone further and gone "oh look he's seen things with his eyes! he can make a noise with a whistle better than a train driver!"
if mike dean wins two more matches he'll go top of the of the Barcleys FA Reffereingpionship
feck them off and use lasers mounted to a computer.
I think it's all premeditated and sinister and aimed at influencing both the media and the refereeing fraternity.
It's about time people in this country stopped fawning over him and saw him for the horrible, cynical piece of shit he is. I hope Liverpool destroy them, Atletico too.
He was constantly moaning about the refs.
Mourinho isn't being sinister, he simply does what good managers do and creates an us against them mentality at the clubs he manages. This sort of stuff all contributes to that.
I just think he goes too far. Us against them is one thing, I think he's a vile bully. It's one thing losing your rag after a defeat and sounding off, that's not what he's doing. It's a concerted campaign using his media profile.
As for Sam, it was OTT of course and bit embarrassing, but slightly more understandable for a small club to take that stance. Barry Knight was a special case and irrelevant in this argument.

I like Mourinho; I get why plenty dont. Plenty ammunition there.
If you're arguing his players don't love him, you're talking bollocks.

How would you know? Unless you're talking bollox yourself? I've yet to meet a universally-loved boss, and last time I checked they're still all human.

Where I am. I'll always be grateful that Utd didn't take a punt on him, when they opted for Moyes. Like with anyone that joins that lot - my admiration would have rapidly turned into hatredPrufrock wrote:I like Mourinho; I get why plenty dont. Plenty ammunition there.

Exactly the same. I mean part of the reason I like him is for his run down the touchline at Old Trafford to celebrate little Porto beating Utd in that champs league semi final, which wound the UTD fans up sooooo much. It was ace.Harry Genshaw wrote:Where I am. I'll always be grateful that Utd didn't take a punt on him, when they opted for Moyes. Watching all the coins bouncing off him and him not being remotely arsed as he skipped toward the tunnel was an absolute joy!
