To name a few quickly would include Gradi, Ferguson, Clough, Revie, Shankley. That's just in this country. There will be many more.

Can I refer you to the time he accused Reading, their staff, their doctor, their St. John's Ambulance people of incompetence and damn near murderers when Cech fractured his skull in an accidental coming together with Hunt. They had all acted with great speed and care, but he laid into them. It was utterly disgraceful.

Or to the time he was banned from the ground due to his misbehaviours and got himself sneaked in....

Or when he laid into a clubs ball-boy for not being quick enough to return the ball. Not an oblique, irritated reference, but a direct hurling of targeted abuse.

Also something about an awards night when he messed Chelsea about ... can't recall the details but again, he was a preening, self obsessed prick.

I don't think it's that controversial to suggest that Mourinho is the kind of manager who somehow fosters a fierce loyalty in his players - I thought it was a fairly generally repeated theory about him... BWFCi didn't say he's the only one - but one of a few... it might not be objectively true - that'd be quite hard to quantify and prove - but it is part of what people generally think about Mourinho and his teams? no? I thought it was, anyway..

Could I ask what your reaction to Allardyce doing the exact same thing here was? Specifically when he went on one after Knight's performance at Ipswich. And then later when he submitted a DVD and dossier of evidence, to the FA or Premier League, I can't remember which, complaining about referee performance?

He was constantly moaning about the refs.

Mourinho isn't being sinister, he simply does what good managers do and creates an us against them mentality at the clubs he manages. This sort of stuff all contributes to that.

Exactly the same. I mean part of the reason I like him is for his run down the touchline at Old Trafford to celebrate little Porto beating Utd in that champs league semi final, which wound the UTD fans up sooooo much. It was ace.
