What a win!
I thought Bogdan was fine up until he conceded the goal (which was all mother nature that one), then he started to look a little shaky and a few of his kicks were horrible. I can't fault him to much as the wind was an absolute 'mare but i wonder if Jussi would have got the same amount of support if he was out there!

Finally the midfield 3 that most have been calling for, i really don't know why it has taken so long but we certainly looked a lot better tonight. Mind you a 4-5-1 only works well if you've got a guy up top working his socks off and espescially in the 2nd half i thought NGog looked very good. Took his goal beautiully as well.

Oh and if that's the last time we see Cahill play for us, i'm glad he finished on a high note. Brilliant finish and top defending.

Up to 18th and only 1 point behind QPR and Wolves. Here comes that dreaded thing called hope...

To clarify:

Everton 1. BWFC 2!

Bogdan had a good game from what I saw, couldn't really be faulted for their goal. Back four looked a little shaky, not least Cahill. Petrov looked menacing. Reo-Coker commanding. Ngog looked like a donkey. But he scored.

Tim Howard opened the scoring with a long range kick caught by the wind; it caught everyone by surprise in bouncing and then soaring over the despairing leap of Bogdan.

Ngog leveled with some clever footwork in the box before a sweet left foot finish beat Howard.

With 12 minutes left, Gary Cahill showed the instincts of a striker to bury into the bottom corner after a free kick had been poorly cleared.

There was still time for Leighton Baines to bring a few Bolton fans about 10 years closer to the grave with a heart-stopping stoppage time free kick that thundered off the bar. But Bolton held out to take the win from behind.
So...how does this make him a donkey?
Merely the majority of the time. His control seems to be lacking, to me, and he doesn't have that cutting edge yet - there were a couple of opportunities that I thought should have been buried, but weren't. I'm more than happy to accept other people's opinions on it, as I will be happy to see him get better as the confidence comes back. Which I'm sure it will. I just didn't think he was very good today.

Ngog COULD have had a hat trick, Howard had a really good game for them like.

Agreed.

This result is only as good as the one that follows it. Which, given that our next three games are against United, Liverpool and Arsenal, doesn't really bode well. Unfortunately, we have to be looking at nicking a point from a couple of them. Or three off one of them. If Blackburn and Wigan can do it, so can we.

But for Ngog's movement they would have shut Petrov down yeah sure his first touch was a little heavey at times but he got better all game and his goal looked like something by a mr Anelka! hE WAS A KEY PLAYER FOR US TONIGHT.

I think comparisons with Anelka might be just a little premature, don't you?

Worked an absolute treat. I'd play it every week. Makes our wide players and Mavies so much more effective, and less pressure on Reo-Coker and Muamba to create. Thought N'gog was superb 2nd half.
I agree with all that, ngog will come good he's just lacking in confidence but surely he will feel better after that goal.

thought ngog was sloppy first half, looked half arsed and the booking probably didn't help.

Very good second half though for me.

I'm really, really proud of the lot of them. I'm even more proud of that performance than the Stoke tw@tting earlier this season. A real dogfight in horrendous conditions and they did particularly well to come back from what was a really sickening goal to concede. Every player looked up for it and they got the result they deserved. They made Everton look poor in the first half and dominated the midfield(!), reducing Everton to hopeful long balls to Saha and Swhatshisface.

Ricketts- a much, much better option than Robinson. Looks like he actually can play anywhere along the backline.
Petrov- found space all day, great workrate when breaking quickly.
Ngog- looked a different player after his goal. Hope the confidence continues.
Cahill/Knight- some nervy moments, but it (was) great to have a defender on our team who can score like that.
Bogdan- recovered bravely from a nightmarish mishap. Fair play to Howard for not celebrating as he must have been thinking "poor b*****d!"
Mu/Coker/Davies made the most of the extra man in midfield and Moyes ultimately paid for the tactical mistake. Looked like a proper unit today.

Thrilling game, awesome result.

He did finish it well, the lad has ability no question and everton couldn't cope with him 2nd half. Same again against Man Utd hopefully.

Three decent, battling performances out of the last four. Would be nice to think we're turning a corner, but it'll be hard to sustain if/when Cahill goes. He was immense tonight, in really difficult conditions for a centre half. Given how much relegation would cost, I'm starting to hope the Chelsea move doesn't go through.

Good performance by Bogdan too, despite a couple of fumbles (excusable in the hurricane) He was looking to get off his line more than Jussi which helps to take the pressure off the defence if they know that the keeper isn't looking to them to deal with everything more than three yards out from the goal line. Howard goal wasn't his fault at all, freak bounce.

In fact nearly everyone played pretty well. Makes a big difference having a decent left back, not least to Petrov.

Not sure if Ngog is ever going to be a prolific goalscorer but he's doing enough to deserve a run in the side. Took the first goal well (what a nicely worked move that was, took me back to the heady days of November 2010) and he had, what, three other efforts on goal. So he's starting to get on the end of stuff, even if he should have buried the chance in the first half when Moo played him in.

Everton were piss poor and even I felt a bit sorry for them with all their injuries. Jagielka, Rodwell (a sub for Jagielka) and Osman all had to go off. They pretty much had no midfield after that and folded like a cheap suit. Sounded on the TV like there was quite a bit of home fan booing at the final whistle.

I'm not too proud to admit I may have sharted a little bit when Baines hit the bar in the last minute and then we couldn't get it clear. A little bit.
