We aren’t getting a new manager and an entire new XI. Not within four transfer windows.

We need a manager who can make these players (and maybe some, but not a dozen, others) play. This one doesn’t, not reliably enough.

We need a genuinely experienced manager who has been there and done it and is proven in that case. First and foremost they have to understand character and how to insert it into a side.

Buckingham wasn’t very experienced. Mousinho hardly experienced at all. Come to that, isn’t Wigan’s victorious manager in his first job?

We need a better manager. Proof of that pudding will be in the eating, but I don’t think “experience” is the key metric to hire on.

It could and should've been 4-0 again.

They had enough chances to win 4-0. Their lack of quality up top probably stopped it being 4-0 today.

That's not even taking into consideration the poor performances over our first half of matches this season.

Oh man, yeah. Sometimes for a change we start well and tail off, but here’s a question: When did we last play well in both halves? Seriously - last season? Last year? And we think we should be top two?

I can't remember the last time when we played well in both halves. Wembley vs Plymouth?

When was the last time we played well in a game against a tough team in this league? We don't buck trends under Evatt.

With greatest of respect to Oxford and Wigan managing Bolton is somewhat higher pressure. Buckingham maybe was lucky he came up against Evatt in the final and had already learned what not to do.

There are a lot of young managers who’d be excellent but it’s hard to pick and that’s not where we are.

This is an emergency. We need a fire fighter if you believe we need to turn round the group we have.

If you want a complete rebuild then it’s a different matter.

If we sacked him, you know there would be something that would linger on like he'll take us to arbitration for money owed or something to make it project Ian Evatt.

It would be useful if Iles and the local media showed some bottle and asked him that after all the time and money and being told to ‘trust the project’ we should judge that all on the game today and what would Evatt say about that?

Then ask him how come he’s had 4 years and the same thing happens time and time again. How can anyone with good faith stay in a job after that long and not be able to fix the problems?

Instead they will do nothing cos Evatt will pretend to cry to deflect the fact he’s a total fraud.

I’m loathe to criticise Iles - you can’t really go and ask the questions we’d ask if you want a job - but he does need to put his big boy pants on now and say it as it is. Enough is enough - we need a change. Spineless performance after spineless performance it’s embarrassing supporting Bolton.

So the season is a waste of time and every win is a curse because it covers up the fact we are only in this league because we have an egotistical non league failure in charge.

I disagree that he’s a “non-league failure”. I think he’s a League One manager with a lot to learn, and it shouldn’t be here.

As you say, we have quality. That’s why I think we should do better. I also think we can be much much better organised (ie tactics/coachinv). Bottle and character are harder to define or buy.

As you say (and as I referred to at halftime) it’s starting to feel like every win is a curse, so at least by that rationale this might be the result we need. As long as it’s acted upon.

I just don’t think it’s the time for an untested manager. Evatt is that. And failing. It’s time for experience and know how. Maybe even just till May.

I think there’s a growing body of evidence pointing to him not being a smart enough coach, at present, for a club with our ambitions. Maybe that will change, but we can’t afford to wait any longer.

Did anyone seriously expect anything different, it should have been 4 or 5. They play like a team who haven't played together, complete strangers - just clueless, spineless & leaderless and haven't got a clue how to counter a high press.

I think BWFCI has nailed it in regards to a complete lack a of character in the team, It's not that they aren't playing for Evatt, it's more that they have stopped listening to him.

The apathy amongst the fans is serious & real, they really don't like Evatt and if SB doesn't do what she should have done in the summer then she will undue all of the goodwill that she had with the fan base and the town....it's time for action Sharon Brittan, much overdue action.

Completely agree. If he doesn’t go im convinced it’s something hooky with his contract, a relationship or something Sharon doesn’t want to ‘come out in the wash’. Even is she doesn’t know football she can’t look at the ground today and think this is sustainable. Those early leavers will be non attendees soon. Oh and George Johnston what an absolutely awful performance, the whole team stank but he was the worst by some distance.

The Bolton fans joining in with 'your getting sacked in the morning', for the good of the players Evatt has to go - they can't continue play under the current expectation and pressure from the fans, they are not strong enough characters.

Perhaps they can't afford to sack Evatt, but it's at the stage now where they can't afford not to due to the damage being done whilst he's still here.

This sums up why the man is my most hated manager in the history of this club and it’s not close.

“I’ve been here a long time. I’ve managed this club for along time. Took a club from where it was to where it is today. Winning a lot of things along the way. A lot of great victories and these ones hurt me more than most.”

He talks like he’s Allardyce. Like he’s taken a club going out of business at the bottom of the championship to European qualification. Instead he’s managed to replicate the record of Phil Neal here. Where is the humility. He is lucky to even have a league management job at this stage let alone at Bolton Wanderers. He should be on his knees groveling and apologising. In reality we are having to endure this season yet again in league one because of him. A half decent manager would have us in the championship already. Not even half decent just average. How does he think anyone would think he’s done a good job beyond the first season? Rebuild after rebuild. Money down the drain after more down the drain.
