Nixon and Iles both suggest Juke is our only striking target as things stand. Whether there is a plan B who knows, but I suspect there isn't a specific named plan B.cmbfc_90 wrote:I'm sure the Juke wasn't the only striker, we had on are wish list. I'd be happy to take a chance on an unknown, like the guy who's on trial
Nixon doesn't seem to agree with Iles about Burnley's bid for Juke. Doesn't think it has happened. Iles seems sure though.

They both claim we aren't. I think Mason is too expensive to buy so would have to be a loan once the season is underway, if anything.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Weren't we after Mason as well?

Figured it would be a loan. He must be about 5th in the pecking order there now.BWFC_Insane wrote:They both claim we aren't. I think Mason is too expensive to buy so would have to be a loan once the season is underway, if anything.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Weren't we after Mason as well?

Catch 22 though, if we start the season well, Cardiff won't want to loan him to a potential rival....Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Figured it would be a loan. Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
The Burnley Express are reporting that the Juke is their third choice option after Troy Deeley at Watford and Danny Graham at Sunderland. They had a 5 million bud rejected by Watford last week, so this may just be brinkmanship to bring them back to the table. Fingers crossed.

Why not - we loaned out Eamon Andrews, or whatever he's called, to Brighton. Are they just more intelligent than us?BWFC_Insane wrote:

If they want to get him of the wage bill, I don't think they'd hesitate to loan him out.
However, I think they wanted to sell him. There was this:

Which seems to indicate they want the same fee as Boro want for the Polish chap.
So that puts him way out of our price range.
I expect we'll get a loan from a Premier League club. Probably of similar quality to the Arsenal Acrobat, Adobe, or whatever his name was.

Having tried David Ngog, we could go for David Ngoo. Free agent, 6ft 6in, almost entirely goal-free, he'd be perfect.
Or the best player in the world, Nicklas Bendtner.

I think Bendtner would be brilliant for us, and us for him.
Unfortunately we couldn't afford him AND his ego.

Bendtner = The Greatest Striker in the World (in his own mind)
He'd be good but never, ever be able to afford him

Baptiste joins Blackburn Rovers on loan, the club has announced.
Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns.

Hmmm. That's a weird one. Wonder if it's in his contract there he can't play CB!
Supposedly on big money, was frankly a bit shit. Sorta makes sense. Don't know if I'm being alarmist though, but the first thing I thought was 'Frandsen'. Happen it's just coz it's Blackburn.

Wow! Season-long loan. Didn't he play in the friendly yesterday?KeyserSoze wrote:Baptiste joins Blackburn Rovers on loan, the club has announced.
I'm not that upset after the end of last season.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
