Well, I doubt he'd be likely to email a fan saying "you know .... just between us ... he's shite and we're planning to get rid.".

Whilst I agree that he's not likely to come out with that for obvious reasons...the actual e-mail was in response to a complaint about a flag at the Macron, therefore IMO there was no need for Gartside to even mention Freedman in his response or say anything about being on the right track - never mind being the right man for the job, he could have simply just kept his e-mail response to the flag issue
