Don't bother there will be new trophies this year.blurred wrote:I'd hazard a guess that'll be highly unlikely, given I've not picked up my sticks in anger since possibly the last TW Open. I'll have played a couple of rounds in Ireland in June, but that'll be probably the only prep that I have for this... Still looking forward to it, though - always enjoy a good hack around the place.Gertie wrote:Have fun boys, and make sure that the jammy scouse boy doesn't win again.
I'll bring along the 'nearest the pin' trophy, too, to pass on to this year's winner

Where's your home club, Gaiser? Don't fancy the trip over in July?

There is a par three hole at Troon that is only something like 135 yds tee to pin. It's called the "Postage Stamp". It's a distance you could hit with a wedge or easy nine iron almost every time on a driving range or practise area. Trouble is, it's just a green in the midst of a jungle. You get on the tee, the sirens start to sing and.....oh, shxt"

In this week's US Open there is a 288 yard par three. I'd have to borrow one of SOTWA's bazookas for that nowadays.TANGODANCER wrote:There is a par three hole at Troon that is only something like 135 yds tee to pin. It's called the "Postage Stamp".
