A nice place to be. Good news is, the hangover might be tomorrow given the buck fizz that was served with brekkers...Bruce Rioja wrote:On the back of a huge new business deal I scored in December, I currently find myself of interest to head-hunters once again. 8hrs to the airport
Ain't t'internet great? booked, got tickets, visa, checked in, picked seats on plane and printed boarding passes and forty quid to park the car for 15 days
Checked the weather, expected to be 27/28 and sunny for all our stay except one day.
Reckon I'll do the Quad bike through the desert thing and try my hand at wind surfing, Atlantic permitting.
Honestly can not remember ever being so excited over a jolly abroad before, feel like a bloody kid.
Still don't worry chaps taking a tablet with me so local wifi allowing you won't miss me and I'll still be able to read the mail

I am happy that my first, and hopefully last, colonoscopy is now over (though the memory lingers on).

Something that we'll all be happy about as we're just about to roll out flexible sigmoidiscopy as a screening test at age 50. So, along with your birthday cards gents, you'll be getting an invite to have a camera shoved up your jacket. Happy birthday!!Montreal Wanderer wrote:I am happy that my first, and hopefully last, colonoscopy is now over (though the memory lingers on).

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Geez you blokes are a cheerful mob!
Yes, today I am happy. For ages now I rarely managed to log on to this site on the first attempt - maybe once a month - but invariably the second attempt was successful. That wasn't a problem really and I got used to it. However, I often fly on a flight simulator, Micrsoft's Flight Sim Ten. This became a problem and, although this is subjective, seemed to be getting worse. It was quite frustrating as whatever the problem is/was most of the computer became unresponsive. I found out by pure accident that if I left it alone for ten minutes it would then resurrect itself and all other running programmes would also behave normally. Weird! I changed the video card to one with twice the on-board memory but that didn't improve things. All the cabling was checked and double checked to no avail.
So I bought a new modem/router, thinking that the existing unit might be causing some sort of traffic jam; when I fly it's usually in conjunction with a server in BC, Canada. Anyway, it works. Four days in a row I've logged on here first go. Only two flights - about five hours in total - have been taken and no problem so far. Mind you it's early days there. as the hiccups seemed to happen randomly.
I know, I know, small minds and all that. Nevertheless I am happy so far and hopeful that the problem has been rectified.

Otherwise this could be seen as wasteful expenditure.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I think it's more a commentary on Student Loans, that these poor, poor students have to resort to providing /ahem massages....bobo the clown wrote:Thank God the NHS is ring fenced for its budgets.Bijou Bob wrote:I've just received the following email from a colleague:
