Entertaining clients tonight, so raw fish it was. Tonight I discovered that mixing the wasabi in with the soy sauce means you get the flavour of it without the nose bleed. Result.

Tonight I will be mostly cooking cod and chips with a beer batter.

Bloody hell I have not stopped. Mrs booked us night at The Inn at Whitewell on Good friday because it was my birthday. We had lunch there (fish & chips), a fair few drinks. Then a bit of a siesta before going back down for dinner (tea) 3 courses plus cheese (I had black pudding, bangers & mash, pear & cinnamon crumble (didn't fancy owt off the a-la-carte) and a few bottles of wine. Was all very good. The next day we called at a place in Bashall Eaves on the way home called the Red Pump. Never been before but they were keen to tell us it was under new management and was clear that it'd been refurbished. Soup and Steak & onion sandwich. Was out of this world. And a few pints of Hen Harrier. Spot on. Big bowl of chilli last night with baked nachos & spring onions. Beers. Then today was at my Nans for a big old roast dinner.

I'm put on a few heavy stones i reckon!

Oh yes. Had one of these babies when I went to watch Bolton v Guimaraes. After the 'Battle of the Ribiera' with the Rangers fans I found myself walking (well running) past a cafe specialising in Franchesina. Top beer food.

Bizarrely there is a small Portuguese community, near where I'm working at the moment, about 10 minutes walk from Vauxhall station. The cafes in this area sell Superbok and tapas and Franchesina.
