So it is! I was getting ahead of myself. Most excited for Mid Morning Matters, I think it's my favourite Partridge format. Might rewatch S1 of Better Call Saul before starting the second as I can't remember a lot of it.

This evening I'm about to do something that I don't ordinarily do - I'm about to turn a film off by dint of it being an absolute pile of wank. It's called The Man From Earth. Whatever you do, just don't. It's one of the biggest piles of poorly-acted complete and utter shite that I've seen in a long time. I've taken one (or at least 40 minutes of one) for the team here - trust me.

I think he's already mentioned it on here but watch 'Wild Tales' if you haven't.

Any of the films from Roy Andersson's trilogy (they can be watched in any order): Songs From the Second Floor, You the Living and A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence.

Other films I've seen and loved (though not necessarily released) in the past couple of years:

Kings of Summer
Locke
The Devils
Dogtooth
L.I.E

Probably loads of others but those spring to mind.

Also, if you want to see the single most bat shit crazy, unintentionally hilarious film and potentially a completely misunderstood masterpiece (though I doubt it) - watch 'Eversmile, New Jersey' in which Daniel Day Lewis travels around Patagonia on a motorbike as a travelling dentist.

I've included the trailer which basically sums it up (he goes around shouting 'I'm a dentist!' a lot)

If you haven't watched "Still Alice", you must. You might also want to watch that Christopher Ecclestone one I've just mentioned ont'other thread. Just looked it up and it's "Let him have it"

Saw the play of it a good few years back - If the film's half as good, well worth a watch.

Just watching something about the Ku Klux Klan. Their robes are made of polyester, apparently. Polyester fibres melt at 250 deg C (trust me on this) Stand closer to the fire, you fecking c*nts,

Memo to ones self, never wear a polyester shirt whilst visiting the Indian for a Vindaloo!

Once read a article about how Superman (on the radio) in the 40s fought not the joker or the penguin, but the kkk. And they were being fed info by an informer so were releasing various secret codes for real. Worth looking up.

Didn't he also fight a Captain Nazi back then as well? Nope, apparently that was Captain Marvel vs Captain Nazi https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Nazi" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I had read the Superman/KKK story in Freakonomics (or perhaps Superfreakonomics).

Watched the 2010 version, remake, of the old Graham Greene classic Brighton Rock (yeh, I know). Dark, grim, gritty and violent tale based loosely around the sixties mod and rocker riots in Brighton. Well worth a watch if not previously seen.

Just watched Frank.
Very strange but well worth a watch. Funny and sad. Maggie Gyllenhall is brilliant.
