Sports Shield have been around the longest (of the 3 main contenders) have been working on a deal since November and as far as we know were the first to put money down.

If the Billionaire is now proposing something better with more money behind it, then that changes things. But of course the only snippet we've heard (which may or may not be true) is that his proposed takeover is very similar in structure to sports shield in terms of it relies on the mortgaging of assets.

Look. I can't put this any plainer. You and I know the square root of fcuk all about ANY of the deal structures. Putting in "as far as we know" when it's come from an unqualified source to a reporter to us doesn't for one minute alter the fact that we know fcuk all about ANY of the deal structures.

Being round the longest isn't any sort of recommendation. Neither is "as far as we know".

As far as we know, Sports Shield withdrew 48 hours after sometime in January.

I've heard that Euxton is light years ahead in terms of facilities compared to Lostock. Also compared to other local teams training facilities.

Considering the effort that went into developing Euxton during the Allardyce years it seems a shame to lose that progress, considering Lostock is nowhere near at that stage yet. Needs must and all that, but for me if the club are selling a major asset off like that I'd like some explanation and justification for it.

I realise I'm pissing into the wind here but there we are....

Lostock is nothing more than a few Porta Cabins at the moment but there is more scope to develop this site if they can get planning permission (didn't they have plans for a new £1m building there a couple of years ago?).

Bolton News saying Lostock is a 40 acre site with 11 football pitches. If you want to see the impressive site look for Ox Hey Lane, Lostock on Bing Maps. Google Maps is not as up-to-date as Bing at the moment. There is also a second all-weather pitch that was laid a couple of years ago. I suspect the intentions were always to relocate to Lostock eventually as 11 pitches seems an awful lot just for the academy.

Basically the suggestion is that the activity this week is to name a preferred bidder ahead of Monday to earn an extension on the hearing. Basically rock up to court and say, hey our takeover is progressing we have a preferred bidder, he's a billionaire don't you know. Then get an extension and go back to square one and perhaps give the ST more time?

I mean granted preferred bidder status doesn't mean you are committed to anything.

I can't see this at all - no fcuker want's the Supporters Trust, like me many fans signed up to it originally - but not many now want them to play at running the club, we'd be in the conference in no time with them amateurs playing football manager with BWFC.
