Re: The breaking News thread...
Wait just one fecking minute here. We needed a court order to buy a piece of land to sell in a land development scheme.
Did we go to court to get permission to sell Euxton? and if not why not? And if we did why was that not reported?

See my worry is that won't necessarily be enough to satisfy the taxman. Bury FC were in court last Monday. They'd cleared the debt a few days prior to the hearing and had no recent history of missed payments. The tax man still sought their closure. Unsuccessfully obviously but it suggests they're not likely to be mollified by promises of jam tomorrowBWFC_Insane wrote:Bolton News reporting that deal with sports shield is not done but club believe it is close enough to be able to earn an adjournment on Monday.

Exactly. This is a dangerous game to be playing...it's pretty difficult to unwind a winding up order.Harry Genshaw wrote:See my worry is that won't necessarily be enough to satisfy the taxman. Twas ever thus. Until deal signed, even after downselect to one, why would you say "It's just you"...pointless, when we're downselected, it's pretty much always with at least one "second place" group...generally just so Client can carry on saying things like "You're offering "x", they offered "y" improve your offer...BWFC_Insane wrote:Bolton News also say a party is waiting in the wings should it go wrong.
There is something about this that just doesn't seem right to me.
If you have an agreement in principle and are doing legal checks that should be enough for an adjournment. Not sure why Eddie is trying to fudge it and claim 4 still in the running if on Monday the plan is to claim a deal with one specific group is very close.
Struggling with this a bit. Only conclusion I can come up with is that the deal is nowhere near as close as has been reported, or perhaps even as Deano himself thinks it is.....

Iles says there is an accountancy problem, whatever that means. Apparently that explains delay and weird statement from Eddie to sky news.
Glad I won my bet though!

Why are you still taking any notice of the crap emanating out of BN and Marc Iles.BWFC_Insane wrote:Bolton News also say a party is waiting in the wings should it go wrong.

They said this on Thursday:
BW must push the button on administration by Friday if they fail to strike a deal on new ownership.
If new owners have not been found by the end of the week [Friday] the sale of Euxton will go ahead to raise funds to trade in administration.
Clearly that was all bullshit as:
Euxton was sold prior to this deadline.
The deadline passed but no button was pushed.
The sale of Euxton is not funding trading in administration.
Basically the entire article was bollox. But here you are again quoting sentences from yet another article by the same completely unreliable source.

I think we needed to go to court the first time to unfreeze the withdrawal facility on our bank account in order to buy a bit of land. If we're selling, then I don't suppose we need permission to bank a cheque. But, I'm only going off what I read on here, so it could be complete bllx.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Wait just one fecking minute here. Where is Eddie claiming that 4 others are still in the running? And why would he be trying to Cadburys fudge it! Source.

Re: The breaking News thread...
But why did everything need sorting out Friday? There's other options that get us through Monday that don't involve completing the sale. Paying the bill, would be one such...thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote: I knew nothing would be sorted today. Something about the whole thing didn't sound right to me.

So to sum up - the Bolton News, akin to other "48 hours" they've written about, said it all had to be wrapped up Friday. That was wrong - then and now. That's not to say I've any real idea whether we'll get through Monday (I think we will, but I don't actually know we will)...So what's the rush?
