wasn't summat supposed to be all done by close of play today or else summat else would happen??

is it close of play yet? 21 mins past 11...

edit... ahh yes - it was insano quoting Iles (yesterday)
Think it is everything. But we will see. There are still other things that need completing. Such as football league fit and proper clearance and lots of legal issues. Iles reckons all needs doing by close of play tomorrow.

is it all done then?

No. And I think the point was that now we have to hope the court is generous on Monday.

Nobody knows. Bolton news don't think we will pay it. I find that hard to believe and think they are annoyed that the club won't give them interviews with directors.

We will find out on Monday.

Nixon has some interesting tweets this morning if anyone is interested.

Names Ken Anderson as an agent involved in the Sports Shield bid.

Also says Eddie wants an 'achievement bonus' written into any deal. Basically Eddie expects a cut of any future profit. Achievement is defined as being in the championship or higher at any point over the next 5 years.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Simple as ??

I'll bet you an Internet £10 that there'll be some fudge and further delay.

Given that money has been found down the car park sofa then I see no reason they wouldn't pay the tax man ... assuming the sum isn't in doubt ... at the moment we must.

Think we will have to find out if they've paid the bill. Because they will have to propose a plan if they haven't.

Iles saying the same thing about ED wanting a percentage of future TV earnings from any deal.

Perhaps now we are starting to see why it is hard for any group to do a deal here.

if that's true - it sounds a bit odd. Is this common practice with the sale of other businesses? Not summat I've heard of before - (except with footballers be sold on with success-clauses!) - but then I don't move in the same high-finance world as many of you do...

^^It sounds like something that ED has introduced fairly recently. Perhaps responsible for the variety of 'a deal is close....oh it isn't' moments as that would impact on a buyers business plan.

He also wants a suite naming after him.

Nixon has joked that it would be more appropriate to name a stand after him, 'the ignominious end'.

Does that really give him enough credit to do literally whatever he wants though? Like if we get wound up tomorrow it's all fair enough because Campo.

I'm not up for hanging him, but I can see why buyers would be put off by what he's apparently asking for. Currently the club is losing millions per month, selling off assets, fighting the taxman and heading for League One. If someone buys the club and turns all that around, why should they pay Eddie a yearly bonus for it?
