The club was sold for 7.75m with £15m still owed to Eddie Davies you said. So who do we owe the other £177.25m to?

Re: The breaking News thread...
The club hasn't been sold yet. Football league approval required. As things stand we owe over £200M. Obviously mostly to Eddie, but there will be other debts the new owners have to pay, such as the tax bill for one....Gary the Enfield wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:That is what HMRC said during the hearing today.Gary the Enfield wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:The clubs debt now exceeds £200M.....

Davies has also insisted that the club projects an image of his face onto the moon during midweek games so that the crowd can gaze in awe and wonderment at his enduring saintliness and pay homage to his act of utmost benevolence.BWFC_Insane wrote:Marc Iles - Eddie Davies to become club president.

I have some vague recollection of it being said Davies would right off the debt and sell for twenty million.Gary the Enfield wrote:The club was sold for 7.75m with £15m still owed to Eddie Davies you said.
Guess he pretty much got what he wanted.

That was years ago. For the past few months the club have pushed (via Birch) the message that Eddie would wipe off the debt and sell for £1.....Enoch wrote:I have some vague recollection of it being said Davies would right off the debt and sell for twenty million.Gary the Enfield wrote:The club was sold for 7.75m with £15m still owed to Eddie Davies you said.

Re: The breaking News thread...
Hmmm what else did the amount of information forthcoming from this afternoon's hearing bring out about Mr Iles investigative skills:
After adjournment given, Marc Iles twatted this: Interesting that the "second buyer" still being mentioned. Suspect that it club covering their hide in case FL approval not given.
- Well you suspected very wrong then
£15.5million of debt not wiped out
- Marc Iles didn’t see that one coming either
The share sale involves an unspecified payment to ED not just the £1
- Yet another misleading ‘fact’ put about by Mr Iles

Re: The breaking News thread...
The first point, some tweets stated that there were "2 separate possible buyers". Iles was reacting to those. Eddie Davies himself via Jim White said that there were "2 deals in play" yesterday.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Hmmm what else did the amount of information forthcoming from this afternoon's hearing bring out about Mr Iles investigative skills:

So I think you are conflating the fact that 2 companies are buying the club with the message that was put out there that there were 2 deals still in play. That was put out by Eddie himself.
Also, whilst everyone else was hammering on about Tamraz was it not Iles who reported that Sports Shield had the exclusivity period? Indeed it was.
I think that you are quite selective in what you choose to pick up on. He said right from the start we'd not pay the bill, and called it correctly last week re Sports Shield when others reported different. Even statements from Eddie last week about (assessing 4 buyers) contradicted Iles' report and people shat on him for that, but ultimately he called it correctly. The broad strokes he has been correct about. I think considering the limitations he has in terms of the resources he will have available he's done pretty well in what was clearly a very, very difficult puzzle to piece together.

Its quite clear from Iles piece on Gartside that he's been frozen out by the past regime and has been used by SS to spout tittle tattle. In my opinion Iles has been settling a few scores. Would be funny if the new regime freeze him out.
As for all the piss and froth toward ED (fuelled mainly with tittle tattle 'insights' by Iles & Nixon) - give your heads a shake. As has been said innumerable times, we have little idea of what was going on and are no position to judge. Given that, you either believe ED has had the best interest of the club at heart or not. I think he does.
For all the ingrates lets just hope you are not carping about the new regime in a few months time and we experience something over the next few years similar to what we did under ED.

From someone who was in court...
HMRC wasn't happy with witness statement as new owner funding (7.5M) didn't match BWFC outstanding debt & asked for immediate wind up order
