That's not the impression you gave me, which is entirely what my beef is about. I'm complaining that you appear to be his (Iles's) PA or spin doctor or something. Every other post is, "according to Iles", "Iles says", etc.BWFC_Insane wrote:Eh? Iles didn't tweet about it. Someone sent it to him. It was nothing to do with Iles, other than he received a tweet with that being mused.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:
You ran with it, which I'm sure you'll concede is pretty much the same as I said, just alter "that Iles was" to "about what Iles had twittered about"...
Which is fine if he's some kind of reliable source, but he's not, he's just somebody doing a job quite mediocrely. I've said this once before, if you have opinions then spout them, just don't hide behind some dubious shield of quotations erected from a mythical 'finger on the pulse' source.

So when I said 'someone has just tweeted to Iles....' you didn't get that impression? Well I'm sorry but I can't be held accountable for that.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:That's not the impression you gave me, which is entirely what my beef is about. Re: The breaking News thread...
I got the impression someone had tweeted to Iles and both you and Iles were broadcasting this information... Why else were you broadcasting it? Where had you got this from that you were broadcasting?? FFS, if you weren't interested why did you repeat it, and say it made you think, and then defend it quite vigorously, and use Iles name in all this as a source???BWFC_Insane wrote:So when I said 'someone has just tweeted to Iles....' you didn't get that impression? I said someone had tweeted the suggestion to Iles and it had got me thinking. I was speculating and never suggested that it had come from any sort of official source. It was mere musing. I think that was pretty clear.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I got the impression someone had tweeted to Iles and both you and Iles were broadcasting this information... Why else were you broadcasting it? This has all been too simple today. I hereby predict Sports Shield getting shafted in the next ten days.

I thought the negotiations had now stopped and the deal done? The sale agreement has been completed, think the next task is to convince the football league that the parties involved are at least as reputable as Thaksin Shinwatra.Bijou Bob wrote:This has all been too simple today. The checks have tightened. You also have to satisfy the football league that you have sufficient resources to keep the club trading for a period of time.Worthy4England wrote:I thought the negotiations had now stopped and the deal done? How is it gloom? It means that there should be less doubt over sports shield's ability to fund the club going forward. Which is the very opposite of gloom.thebish wrote:aye - still some glooooooooooooooom to be sqeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezed out of this!BWFC_Insane wrote:The checks have tightened. I thought - in suggesting the checks have tightened up in response to worthy's optimism - that you were suggesting that Football League might veto Sports Shield.... would that not be a bit gloomy??

No. I was suggesting that when they pass, it is slightly more substantial a check. Which does not offer guarantees but should at least independently check that sufficient funding is in place.thebish wrote:I thought - in suggesting the checks have tightened up in response to worthy's optimism - that you were suggesting that Football League might veto Sports Shield.... would that not be a bit gloomy??

well - I was kinda associating it in my head with your comment earlier today re. this deal:
which does kinda make it sound a bit gloomier to my ears!!BWFC_Insane wrote:Any deal would be subject to football league clearance which could take a while and despite popular belief isn't a given.

and - the slightly fuller quote about Lenny..

not the gloss we were originally offered!Davies believes the takeover could have a positive psychological effect on the team’s survival effort and hopes that Neil Lennon is given a chance to lead the team by the new regime.
"He's a good guy, Neil. I like him,” he said on Sky Sports News. “I can't say (he stays) because it's out of my hands but I would vote for Neil to stay, yeah.”
