I still hold on to the ludicrous notion that we could escape relegation, but only if we give NL the bullet (no pun intended), and only if we do that urgently to give someone with a shred of tactical awareness / people skills maybe a dozen matches to scrape enough points together.

Edit: Pearson's name being mentioned elsewhere. Don't think we could get a better out-of-work manager that we could realistically attract (given his slightly-damaged-goods-status following Leics departure). Maybe worth a short term contract to end of the season?

I'm informed by someone who claims to be ITK that Phillips was quietly approached over a month ago about taking over and he didn't want the job this time.

I'm amazed that the club have taken their eye off the ball to the extent that they have with the on field stuff. Surely NL now has the worst history of any manager not to get the sack?

It's too late now in any case. We're down and out, but a new man might start to galvanise things before the end and allow for a good start next season.
