Great film. Have you seen Looking for Eric yet, by the way?LeverEnd wrote:Just watched Frank.
Very strange but well worth a watch. Funny and sad. Maggie Gyllenhall is brilliant.

This week's watching are the Prufrock recommended 'Still Alice', and another one from the Mike Leigh list 'Meantime'.

Watched Spectre yesterday. After a numbers of diversions with Daniel Craig in the lead why frankly could have been any Secret Agent, but just happened to be called Bond, this one went back a little (no bad thing for me) and I actually watched it all and enjoyed it. Only bought it based on a recco on here...think it was Clappers. So thanks.

I really loved that film. Think i was taken a back because from the trailers it looked like a straight comedy. Anything but!LeverEnd wrote:Just watched Frank.

Don't think it was me - It wasn't a bad film but I can't say I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a succession of set pieces with only a barely coherent thread to it all. Poor Bond film, I thought, and a step backwards from Skyfall.Worthy4England wrote:Watched Spectre yesterday. funnily enough Frank and Room are from the same director... the films couldnt be more different like but both amazing! just noticed he's responsible for Adam & Paul also, thats another bleak bastard of a film too.

Watched Looking for Eric. United it might have been about, but it was northern humour at its best. Oh, and Eric Cantona was also one of the very best ever to grace a football pithch.....United or no....Cracking film. Loved it.

Girls any good? Was getting annoyed with the last series but it got a lot better towards the end.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
yeah was alright, it was Marnie's wedding day, so the whole gang was there knocking out their standard traits! (loquacious Shosh, awkward Adam, overbearing Marnie, emotional Desi, eloquent Ray, nonconformist Hannah and so fit nonchalant Jessa) with a bit of slapstick from Marnies mother and the makeup artist - maybe a bit full on if anything for an half hour episode...Beefheart wrote:Girls any good? Ever heard of The Swiss Top Secret Drum Corps? Absolutely staggering synchronisation. Gobsmacked...

Was looking to see where 'Anomalisa' (the new Charlie Kaufman film) was showing next week. Nearest is Sheffield...pull your finger out Cornerhouse or whatever it's called now.
