Was just wondering what you lot think the chances are of us keeping Oscar Threlkeld permanently? Becoming a big fans favourite (just like Kellet did), a cracking little box to box CM.

Good luck with your bid to stay in the championship, if not then perhaps we'll be seeing you next season!

We have a shedload of players out of Contract in the summer - most of whom we won't be able to afford, especially if we drop a division. I'd expect that most of our loanees who aren't out of Contract will become a part of the team one Division down...as it looks at the minute, we're almost certainties for relegation.

He is fast becoming a fans favourite! Lennon I'd imagine will be gone by the end of the season! I think the new manager will wanna run the rule over him! To be honest. It's whether he'd wanna come back! Providing get Argyle promoted (another good win yesterday despite the performance) which looks highly likely! I think he'd wanna stay. Sadly BWFC look to be on the way down (for now ) and Argyle are a club on the up!

For historical interest I tried to research the name Threllkeld. There is little or on info on it as a family name, just as a Lakeland region. Where did you get your info on the private mountain etc?

Blencathra is the mountain.

In May 2014, its owner, Hugh Lowther, 8th Earl of Lonsdale, listed the entire mountain massif plus the Lordship of the Manor of Threlkeld for sale, at a guide price of £1.75 million.[8]
A number of offers were soon made for the mountain, and the agent handling the sale suggested that the initial guide price could well be exceeded.[9]
A community group, Friends of Blencathra, was set up in response to the announcement of the fell being listed for sale, and began fund-raising in order to make a bid. Mountaineer Sir Chris Bonington, broadcaster Lord Melvyn Bragg and adventurer and television presenter Ben Fogle were among those to voice support for the group's bid.[10] The National Trust (which owns 21% of the Lake District National Park[11]) also backed the Friends of Blencathra, stating that it would not be placing a bid itself.[12]

Eden District Council listed Blencathra as an asset of community value on 7 July 2014, following a nomination by Friends of Blencathra.[13] This was the first time the 'community asset' status had been given to a mountain,[14] and gave the community group more time to secure funding and negotiate with the owner.
In November 2015, the community group claimed to be making progress with the sale. Days later, H and H Land & Property, the estate agents handling the sale of Blencathra, announced the mountain was no longer on the market, claiming it would not be available to purchase for an 'indefinite' period of time.[15] On 15 February 2016, Companies House published files confirming Friends of Blencathra had only raised £246,650 of the asking price in it's first year of campaigning.[16]

Threlkeld is from old Norse, þrællrkelda, through the Anglo-Norwegian dialect word Trellkelda, into old English as Thrallkeld.
It means the 'spring of the serfs' (Threl = thrall: a slave or serf on a Viking farmstead. Kelda = a well, spring, or fountain, with an alternative meaning of a deep, smooth flowing river).

Small world. These were Ken and Margaret and they had 3 girls (Julie, Debbie and Lesley) and a boy (Keith) who was about my age.
