Surely can't be long before Parker and Walford are cut loose.
Maybe, maybe not but he might not have been able to mention Reid whilst contracts for Parker and Walford were being discussed. Reid doesn't have an official title yet. Maybe for constructive dismissal reasons.....

interesting indeed - as it has always been alleged on here that Jimmy never wanted the job and would never want it, FACT etc...

In constructive-dismissal terms, I can't imagine Talking About Hiring Someone is worse than Actually Hiring Someone. :D

Yes, instead we should have just kept the worst manager* in Bolton Wanderers history and gone out of business to boot!

*virtually worst of anyone who was here more than a week.....

Worse than Charlie Wright?

Only one manager got us relegated in the last 15 years (although that's almost certain to increase to 2 shortly) - despite having significant resources at his disposal to keep us up. At least in Lennon's (marginal) defence, he didn't have a pot to pi$$ in.

I'm one of the people who said that - he's a family friend and I asked him around the time and he said he wasn't interested. I don't claim he's a close friend, but he's known my mother for years so we do occasionally chat when I go back visiting the parents. Maybe he initially wasn't interested, then changed his mind after talking it through with PG or whoever? It's almost as though people can change their minds...
aye - I kinda hope he IS interested and taken seriously - he'd be cheaper than Brownie - and knows the club and maybe the plan is to give him a go (albeit with a wise old, experienced head on hand - Reid??)

Timing plays a part too - you'd probably not really have wanted to follow Allardyce (unless you were stupid and scouse). If you were in the Club and could see how things were going - downwards - you might not have wanted to take the job on then either....If you reckon it's pretty much bottomed out and in some ways a no-lose gamble, then that looks like a better proposition surely?

Particularly if you're being encouraged - restricted, really - to using the kids you've spent the last decade developing.

I think a change of ownership/leadership might have helped. The BN piece suggests he was f*cked off about being passed over and finding out via Twitter.

True. But discussions with the existing staff may have been going on yesterday.

Was really impressed with Jimmy Pip in the short time he had last time. We looked really good against Bristol City in particular. My concern would be that the academy it's finally looking good, and if he did fail as the manager, folk rarely go back, so we'd end up losing him from that.

I'd be going to the brizzle game were it not for the fact I have to pick my daughter (coming home from uni) up from the station.. I had thought a couple of weeks ago it was a lucky escape - now I'd quite like to have been able to go...

Tell her to get off in Bristol ???

Or chuck her the money for a taxi.

Or get Mrs theBish to pick her up.

Or tell her to walk.

Or get her to wait .... it can't be more than a few hours.

Or say you forgot.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Think you'll find they've already linked up with their old boss at the Victoria Inn.

Nixon has just tweeted something about Bolton but couldn't access the link. Think it's something to do with Burnden Leisure. Anybody enlighten us??
