Re: The breaking News thread...
Why would anyone, or any group of one's, buy a football club ?
1. More money than sense. That's lots & I mean LOTS of spare cash & no fear of losing it. (See Abramovich R.)
2. Pretty damn rich &, as it happens, a fan of the sport & the club. ( See Davies E.)
3. You buy it with a plan to assert strip.
4. You buy it with a plan to sell it on.
5. You're an idiot.
Our lot are either #3 or #4. Getting the dosh together any old how even at v high interest (as in the Wonga remark above) suggests #4 to me. There's no other reason to take over without funds & a huge and expensive loan.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

The most important thing is the powers-that-be - Eddie Davies, Trevor Birch and the Football League have seen our intentions and what is there financially - for this season and next - and they are satisfied.'

^ covers the bases well.
so - if we are #3 - what assets could be stripped and how would they generate significant cash? players? (nah!!) stadium? (what use is a stadium in Horwich to anyone?)
if we are #4 - what might be the plan to make us attractive enough as a sale item that they would make any cash back on their original investment?
I'm leaning towards #5!

Instead of putting your fingers in your ears and repeatedly saying "not listening, not listening", you could head over for a peek at Blumarble's accounts and let us know if you reckon their short term growth and significantly increasing short term creditors are a result of long term loans with "low, low interest rates"....BWFC_Insane wrote:From a random Twitter account. However I will say that if you choose to use information selectively as you are then can I? Or do we have to accept that everything on Nixon's timeline during the takeover and now is correct? I'd be happy with the latter personally.....

Re: The breaking News thread...
You already do use Nixon's information selectively, and have done for ages, when it suits your narrative around whether folks should get a shoeing. The point I'm making comes from Blumarble's Accounts not Nixon..as you pointed out a couple of posts back.BWFC_Insane wrote:No. But I cant change it. We are where we are. Re: The breaking News thread...
Nixon, correct when you look back at his statements ???
mmmmm .... only if you look at vague pronouncements and tie them to actual occurrences however tenuous the link.
Very much the Nostrodamus approach. Extremely like a few (female .... coincidence or not ? You decide) friends of mine who read the previous days horoscopes and spend the rest of the day wide eyed and slack jawed about how astonishingly accurate they were.
The man's a con artist with a few connections.

There you go then. Nothing can possibly go tits up financially until after April 2017 at a minimum... as you and Deano have so copiously provided the

I predicted you'd say that. You'll find it in my tweet where it said "some will expect an outcome but be disappointed over time".jonnycooper wrote:I keep getting lured back to this thread,(IN HUUUUUUGE EXPECTATION)only to see the same old Shoite !! No Breaking News!!!

Re: The breaking News thread...
Holdsworth has been ringing Watchdog wondering what his rights are after buying faulty goods. I've some good news for him, he's within the 28 days to get a full refund; the goods he bought don't have to be faulty, they can be "not fit for the purpose" as well.
Taken from the "Which" site -

So if he paid with his Visa he should be fine. Don't tell me buying a football club is different from buying a TV?Under the Consumer Rights Act (which replaced the Sale of Goods Act in October 2015) you have a statutory right to return something and get your money back if it's faulty.
But you're only entitled to an automatic refund if you return it 28 days otherwise you can must give the retailer a chance to make a repair or replacement.
Returns policies are usually displayed on receipts, on signs in-store and online. You can also ring the shop's customer services line to find out its returns policy.
Most retailers impose time limits for returning non-faulty products, such as 28 days, but many extend around Christmas for example, so you might have more time than you think.
If you paid by credit card, you also have extra protection under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.

Winding up petition dismissed by High Court today. No objections from HMRC as bill has been paid in full.
Onwards and upwards. Or more likely onwards only, at least for a little bit.
