My god, that is a gigantic piece of equipment! I had a four inch Bausch & Lomb which seems a bit more portable than yours! Good as a 1000mm telephoto lens as well. Still I'd like to look through an 8 inch job to check out Albeiro.

Aye, tis pretty good for starters. Easily picks out larger Jupiter moons, moon shadows, bands and red spot. Moons are only pinpoint though.

Mars a bit of a disappointment this morning. Pretty low to horizon so difficult to get unobstructed view. Same with Saturn, although we did pick out rings.

I could see the four Galilean moons and red spot with mine. The best time for the rings is when Saturn is tilted towards us at perihelion and aphelion (next aphelion is next year). Checked out Mars about 12 years ago when it was closest - not too exciting. I lost the telescope when my ex-wife decided she wanted it - not that she's ever used it or even knows how. Do look for Albeiro in Cygnus - spectacular blue red double star (though hard to find with my sighting scope).

Apparently there's a very bright green comet shooting this way in the next few days. You need to be up a couple of hours before sunrise to catch it.

So take photos. There's a love.

I just saw a green Orion Ghia on the M42 - without the use of a telescope!

This Green Orion. Is it an MG & driven by Booker T by any chance ?

Sneak 'em in there on the basis that chickens can't read.

Ceramic or induction?

Ceramic shouldn't mean a change, it's still a heat source isn't it?
