blimey charlie!!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-35884363

extract:
Much later, when I was studying in college, the para-cricket players came and asked me if I played cricket and I said yes. I had played before, but for my first match there, regular bowlers were conceding far too many runs, so the captain asked me if I wanted to bowl. Someone else said, "Oh but how will this poor man bowl, he has no arms?"

I grabbed the ball with my feet and bowled and I got a wicket on my first ball.

I hold the ball with my feet, as you would with your hands. I swing my leg the way you would your arm. And I throw it keeping the line and length in mind just like any able-bodied bowler would.

I hold the bat between my neck and my shoulder. I field differently from normal players - I use my feet. But let me tell you, I can throw the ball back from the boundary right into the keeper's hands, just as quickly as anyone else.

3 wickets down - but just over 5 and over to get... for most teams - in the bag - but this IS England! :D

Comfy in the end - good win against NZ...Great knock by Roy and strong finish by Buttler.

Perfect performance from England. Superb death bowling then break the back of the chase in the power play.

That is a classic way to dominate a T20 game.

Where England have hugely improved during this tournament is the death bowling from Jordan and Stokes. Previously if a side got away like NZ did at the start we'd not be able to pull it back. But today we not only pulled it back but left them probably 30 short of par.

on another note...

Earlier on, I turned on the BBC sport page to check out what was happening in the cricket and the firsty headline I saw was "England Miss Out on world T20 final."

only to then realise they were talking about lady-cricket.... :spank:

Yes - lot of focus on given to the way the batters knocked the total off - but realistically, you'd hope that 153 was gettable more often than not. Stokes, Moeen and Jordan all economical.

Fair play to 'em. Where the feck they dragged that from I've no idea. Have to say, in terms of a spectacle I'd rather us have ended up playing India in India.

Interesting game. The kind of intelligence we showed against NZ should see us through IF we can put them in first. I think that the game's going to be ultimately won on lost on the toss.
