Out for 6 - 9 months. Is he still ours at the end of the season or is, hopefully, his contract up?

relying on DSB's excellent research - he's out of contract this summer - along with:
Paul Rachubka, Ross Fitzsimons, Hayden White, Niall Maher, Oscar Threlkeld, Rob Holding, Alex Finney, David Wheater, Quade Taylor, Neil Danns, Jordan Lussey, Tom Walker, Liam Feeney, Emile Heskey, Stephen Dobbie, Tom Eaves, Kaiyne Woolery.

I mean I don't wish him any harm, but have to admit first thing I did when I heard his injury was check DSB's list and breathed a sigh of relief.

Re: Rob Hall
Contract expiry list is still here. Only changes are loan-based: Feeney to Ipswich and youngish goalie Fitzsimons is back.
Threlkeld's Plymouth loan is up this Saturday, so he'll be back thereafter. I wouldn't start him against Boro the following Saturday - the next opponents, Charlton, are more the sort of level he'd be facing for us next term.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Rob Hall
That's a kick in the swingers for all concerned.
For McDons, four points from safety after losing at Fulham on Saturday - the first game the last nine that Hall hasn't featured in, and they have a much worse loss percentage without him (62%) than with him (44%) - and their win rate drops from 33% to 17% when he doesn't start.
For us, as we have to pay for his treatment, at least up until summer.
And for him, as he will lose the rest of the year, be unemployed, and forced to try to find a club when the squads are full.

Re: Rob Hall
I take it there is no contract or league obligation to keep him until he is back training? It seems quite harsh if a player gets injured when under contract and he has to fund any rehabilitation himself after it finishes. I'm not saying we should continue to pay him or his rehabilitation especially as he did it while playing on loan probably for his future. Just wondering if there is any small print in a contract that forces us to get him fit again even if out of contract.

They have personal; insurance on th most part.. Deano will tap him up sure, as I think that's what Sports Shield started out asmalcd1 wrote:I take it there is no contract or league obligation to keep him until he is back training? Re: Rob Hall
Our obligation ends when the player's contract does. If a player gets a career-ending injury with lots of contract left, the parties will negotiate a pay-off (see Marc Tierney). As Boris says, there's usually insurance involved.malcd1 wrote:I take it there is no contract or league obligation to keep him until he is back training? Re: Rob Hall
It's not the career death sentence it once was – although he'd have a better chance if he was under contract at an EPL club rather than running out of time at a skint club headed for the third tier.throwawayboltonian wrote:And ACL injuries are hard to come back from for outfield players. Can quite often be career enders as we've seen. As much as he epitomises our downfall (average player overpaid in all respects) I wish him well on his recovery. Re: Rob Hall
Shame we have to pay his medical bills for a bit. Are his wages still covered by MK Dons? Other than that cant say I give a fck as long as we are not stuck with him in our treatment room beyond this season.

Dunno. 3rd division may be his level.

He's creamed enough from this place. Not in Mark 'cnut' Davies' league mind, but not worth any sympathy.
