I predict Mr Cameron might be asked about Mossack Fonseca sometime in the not too far distant future...

With all the finger pointing at Putin, whoever leaked this better have a good hiding place.Worthy4England wrote:I predict Mr Cameron might be asked about Mossack Fonseca sometime in the not too far distant future...

This isn't going away and as the paper sift continues, more and more people and companies are going to end up being highlighted. This could get really interesting.

I did wonder whether our ex-Bolton owner might get a mention somewhere - I think you're right, it's not going away - but then again there have been other leaks, that didn't have a wide ranging sticking effect...Bijou Bob wrote:This isn't going away and as the paper sift continues, more and more people and companies are going to end up being highlighted. Re: The Politics Thread
incidentally...
It seems there is no issue or story that doesn't actually turn out to be about Corbyn for some of the press...
ahead of a phone-in, LBC tweeted the following:
"Jeremy Corbyn says PM should come clean over family finances after Panama leak. Should Corbyn resign over this call?"

Re: The Politics Thread
nope - and i didn't say it was - but benefitting from dodgy tax-free loopholes to the tune of tens of thousands of pounds and then publically attacking Jimmy Carr for being "morally wrong" and loudly proclaiming that your government is doing everything it can to close such loopholes whilst at the same time resisting EU moves to do just that.... IS hypocritical (IMHO)Bruce Rioja wrote:Is having money a sin of some sort?

Re: The Politics Thread
Cameron and Co have got themselves into a bit of a mess over this. To be fair his Govt have tried to tackle tax avoidance and with some successes re google, Amazon etc but as Bish pointed out, you can't be criticising Jimmy Carr then shy away from criticising Gary Barlow because he donates to your party.
The fact he sold the shares prior to becoming PM just demonstrates to me that he knew it was,at best, shady.

Charles Moore - in the Telegraph - invites us to shed a tear for the plight of Mr Cameron...

as some tweeting wag put it...You often hear of people being “trapped in poverty”, but it is also possible to be trapped in wealth. This is David Cameron’s fate.
What's that Skippy? "There's a man trapped in a well?" "Oh... trapped in wealth?" "Not sure that's going to be a relatable episode Skippy"

The injustice of it! I think some Junior Doctors should start secondary picketing of the House of Commons, until this mess is sorted out.
Re: The Politics Thread
I'd guess we won't be seeing a tax return from her anytime soon then?Mr Corbyn and Lib Dem leader Tim Farron have both pledged to publish their tax returns in the coming days.
SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon has already done so.
But Tory Cabinet Minister Amber Rudd battled to resist the plan, claiming it would put rich people off standing for Parliament.
“I think we have to think very carefully about the balance between transparency and privacy,” she said on Sky’s Murnaghan show.
“We don’t want to put people off who might have substantial assets... I don’t think it’s necessarily the right way to go.”

Busy laughing here at people with ISAs and who make AVCs castigating the PM, wrongly, over tax avoidance
