All seems reasonable but let's see how it goes. Interesting that Anderson is an ex-agent and his son is an agent too, so there shouldn't be any naivety.I think the honest answer is we all know a number of players are going to leave. My first thing today is asking the players – who wants to be here and work with us next season? I'm sure there will be some that do and a few that don't.
The biggest thing to manage is the players with the biggest salaries and whether we can find clubs who will take them. Several of them won't want to be here because they won't want to play in League One, they will want to play in the Championship. Their salary bands will probably ensure it's not going to be an easy job to find another club. If the player doesn't want to be here, we don't want them to be here. We'd rather they move on.
What we won't be doing, if we can control it, is we're not going to pay players large amounts of money to leave – a compromise agreement. If it comes to the stage where a player's on £20,000 a week and finding a club who are offering 15 and the player and his agent are saying, 'I want you to pay the £5,000 shortfall for the next two years'. We're not going to do it.
We will try and get the player out on loan and if he goes out on loan I may have to subside (sic: presumably he means 'subsidise'), which I don't want to do, but it's a lot easier to find £5,000 a week than £500,000 in one go. If I pay all the players off that want to go we won't have sufficient funds to bring in the players we want to bring in.

Iles tweet:
"Ken Anderson confirmed that neither Kevin Nolan or Phil Brown have applied for the job @ #bwfc -whether that precludes them, another matter."

I find it easier to miss out the middleman by either reading Nixon's Tweets or by contemplating the glaringly fecking obvious for myself.Harry Genshaw wrote:

If the Walker doesn't live at least 500 miles away or across the sea he's not committed enough and can feck off.
I bet it's Reidy.

Couple of things from that video.
Eddie is owed money. Deferred by two years. Reason for the delay was they had to renegotiate to defer the payments. Presumably then the reports that stated the league were unhappy with the structure of payments owed to Eddie were in face correct.
He also states that he has committed a certain amount of money to the football club for the future. And the league checked that money was indeed there. Ahem.....

Managerial shortlist is down to three, but (per Marc Iles' tweet) Browny did not apply. Hmm.

Strangely enough, I don't agree with the conclusion you've reached. What Anderson says in the video is that they got to a point where they knew (or it was very likely) that we'd be relegated and we'd need all the funds they had - I assume to cover the revenue drop on relegation. So there's a cost vs revenue problem, that could equally be put down to paying off Blumarble, paying players wages and, and, and. I would have thought it much more likely that the FL were worried about our ability to meet all outgoings rather than the specific structure of payments to one lender.BWFC_Insane wrote:Couple of things from that video.

Well yes. The reports at the time suggested that the repayments to ED tipped the deal over the affordability balance in the eyes of the FL. You can look at it two ways. Eddie did them a favour by deferring the payment. Or he had no choice but to defer if the deal was to go through. Either way it seems this is further debt on top of the debt he has left in based on 'success payments'. Seems he didn't in the sky interview come clean about all the debt he was leaving in. Or at least to my untrained eye it seems that way.Worthy4England wrote:Strangely enough, I don't agree with the conclusion you've reached. BWFC_Insane concludes that ED is a monster and BWFC_Insane was right about him all along - shocker!

I suggest you're untrained eye re-reads what was reported.
What financial information did Anderson reveal today? Did you hear him talk about the Blumarble loan at all? Tell us exactly how much he's personally in for? I didn't - apply the same standards.
He didn't mention £15m nor the alleged additional £1m "directors" loan that Iles is reporting - despite the small problem that ED isn't a Director. Trevor Birch did say the asking price was £15m in November. I assume the reason it's been left in, is because it's not been paid by SS as part of the deal."I'm getting a pound up front. Anything else is earned out by what position, in which league, the club finishes every season. It's highly probabilistic, that, so there's no guarantee on it at all"

Anderson will be judged on actions. If he was at this minute asking me to think of him as a BWFC saint having taken the club to the brink, and demanded an honorary presidency role previously held only by Sir Nat Lofthouse I would expect exactly the same.Worthy4England wrote:I suggest you're untrained eye re-reads what was reported.

Out of interest when did Birch say the asking price was 15M? I recall him saying it was being made very attractive for buyers, rather than reveal any asking price.

Going off of that conference alone I like the guy, and he clearly intends to run the club on a sound business footing rather than on the economics of the fecking madhouse.

Anyhow if you look at the 5-6M playing budget and assume 24 first teamers we are probably looking at an average wage of about £4K a week. Taking a bit away from the budget to allow for the U21's and dev squads to be paid etc...

Re: Next season - might as well get it started now.
Indeed, but it's where we are now. £4K a week is still a fecking fortune. I'm guessing the we won't even bother opening the upper tiers for several games next season.BWFC_Insane wrote:Anyhow if you look at the 5-6M playing budget and assume 24 first teamers we are probably looking at an average wage of about £4K a week.
