Fair enough, you've both proven how big you are by insulting each other on the internet.
Any chance you can play nice now though? Ta. :)

Trouble is I think it is less a case of us choosing than it is of a manager being cheap and available and willing to come.
Cobblers fans seem to think Gene's on his way following his post match interview today - not heard it but they think it sounded like he may be on his way....
He would be my choice to come in and sort us out. What exactly did he say?
On his way to us, or the club in a higher division nearer his home?

Difficult to know what to make of this, but at 2:50 mins in, Wider manages to avoid (evade?) answering a direct question about his future. But, a good interview, regardless.

A competitive performance. We maybe can find a team from this lot with a few additions to compete in League one.

I thought Derik was really excellent and can make that defensive midfield his own, and Clough showed some class and worked hard.. Wheater also had a strong game.

On the other hand, Pratley was terrible with Moxey not too far behind. The rest were decent although MDavies seems to be cruising.

Lets hope we can get that long awaited win at Charlton.

No, not I. Fear not.

As for Wilder - he doesn't wanna talk about it. Mind you is it a week or a fortnight since we were examining Browny's tv appearance?

I was trying to find out how many goals we'd conceded late on in games. 21 in the last 15 minutes and 18 in the last 10 (Both the ahem "best" in the division). Not only are the fckrs stealing a living, they're not even doing it for 90 mins a game. We are the only team in all 4 divisions that doesn't have a 10 minute spell where we've scored more than the opposition. We've dropped 9 points from minute 85 onwards, 12 points in the last 10 minutes - that would have meant we're not relegated yet (quite).

We're also "best" at conceding in the first 15 minutes - 13 goals early doors. So not only are we shit, we're not even bothering for 30 minutes of games.

Oh and we've been in a losing position in games for 1448 minutes - the highest in all four divisions (albeit equal with Swindon)

Oh. That doesn't sound good. Are we in danger of relegation?

Just the odd decent flash of ability from Clough, Vela, Holding, all academy lads who should be here next season
I'm catching up on the match thread. I hope this is going to get the recognition it deserves.

Nothing! A scandal.

That second goal makes we want to curl up and never watch football again.

Ian Holloway was on Sky with Kevin Davies. I didn't catch the pre or post match chat, did Holloway get asked if he's the number 3 on the shortlist? ?

Because he's Owen Coyle with a different mental illness.

I did rather amuse myself with that one :D

It was weird on here yesterday, ghost-town stuff. Combination of Sky (thus stream) plus absence of Radio Tango (understandably) and overarching ennui.

I'm serious that next season's crowds could halve, especially if we don't start well. The official attendance yesterday was 18,196 (4,302 Boro) but while that may be the number of tickets sold inc STs there's no way there were 14k home fans - nearer half that, I'd say. And unlike the terrace-heavy Burnden, where we'd all just stretch out a bit, it will look and feel really fkn empty with the four-figure gates we're almost certain to get...

Made me laugh that.

See Iles has written a report on that semi final. Coyle took the players down for an overnight trip during the week of the final. Dinner and drinks and a walk round Wembley.

Kevin Davies says he talked to the Stoke players who spent the week doing double sessions to drill the shape they wanted to play against us.

If it wasn't so sad it would be almost funny.

Holloway kept his cards quite close to his chest when asked on Soccer AM if he'd dropped his CV off. Said he'd committed to Sky for a year and wanted to see it through. Of course that year is up in three weeks anyway.

Seemed to me he's atleast applied for it. Spoke positively about the club and its fans, and said he'd be looking to build around the youth.

Ollie was also quite damning of our shape and tactics.
