Never seen AC/DC live. Overpriced, corporate and Brian Johnson's voice grates after about 10 minutes. Back in Black is the last good album they did (and yes, I'm well aware that was 1980)

However, the way he has been discarded and subsequently replaced by one of the most un-professional and frankly odious 'frontmen' in rock is nothing short of a car crash. If you think Bolton have had a bad season wait until you see this tour end in near riots, acrimony and legal argument.
AC/DC and Axel Rose is going to be a nightmare. They should have got the lead singer from Airbourne. I believe Steven Tyler was considered too.
Otherwise I'm fairly ambivalent about it.

He's not be discarded, he's taken a break otherwise he might go deaf. Interestingly, I believe they wanted Noddy Holder after Bon Scott died.Gary the Enfield wrote:Harry Genshaw wrote:My Facebook feed this last week was full of upset folk about ACDC replacing Brian Johnson with Axel Rose. He's taken a break and they've taken the opportunity to say he won't be back, much to Brian Johnson's protestation. So discarded.

Seen 'em with all three - Bonnet and Turner tours were pretty grim, in terms of the vocals being "Not RJD"Gary the Enfield wrote:Worthy4England wrote:Last time I saw 'em was in about '83. Might have a looksee, but only one UK date????Gary the Enfield wrote:Beefheart wrote:Just got tickets to watch Beck in Manchester in June
That reminds me. Tickets arrived for Rainbow last week. Well, Ritchie Blackmore and a cobbled together bunch of musos playing the back catalogue (but that's what Rainbow was anyway)
Plus I got an email confirming my tickets would be arriving shortly to watch The Answer at the 100 club. Forgot I'd booked them!
Only one date anywhere. Sorry mate, this was sold out months ago, and it's in Birmingham. Never got to see them live and I guess it won't be the same without Bonnet/Dio/Turner fronting but at least Balckmore's there.
Seen AC/DC too, on Highway to Hell and Back in Black

Ah, silly me. I thought that Sunday morning was the one time of the week during which you actually did some work.thebish wrote:cracking ride down to Sidmouth and back this morning - gorgeous Devon sunshine sparkling on the sea... (still a bit parky out there, though...)

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Today I'd like to pay homage to my milk frother, which is three weeks old today. Aware that this may cause some consternation with people who don't have milk in coffee, I don't know quite how I got through life without frothy milk.
My journey started around 8 weeks ago when I cleaned the coffee machine up. It wasn't particularly dirty, just hardly been used. Some spare parts were ordered - coffee filter and a measuring spoon, but ultimately whilst it did reasonable filter coffee, it was a bit lacking in the frothing department.
My milk frother has now changed my whole concept of coffee, in an irrevocable manner (until I get bored with the awful stuff and go back to tea)....

Hmmm. That might be what I need. I have of late been attempting to put together the perfect Espresso Martini but I simply cannot achieve the smooth, frothy top which one drinks it though.Worthy4England wrote:Today I'd like to pay homage to my milk frother, which is three weeks old today. my coffee machine has a kind of steam-spouting spigot that sticks out of the side that you can steam/froth your milk with.. I'm guessing that produces the same kind of effect?
