golden boot 2015/16
Cloughy is currently in the driving seat with a massive 7...

looking at that... we really haven't scored many goals!!

Says a lot that our third highest league scorer is Stephen Dobbie, who's played 353 minutes. (Heskey has played 1004, Clough 2050, Madine 2244, Woolery 533.)
Worth noting though that yon list doesn't include the dearly departed like Feeney and Ameobi.

So Madine the, and I roughly quote here, "Useless, lazy, soft shite" is just one goal behind our £3 million rated saviour? Blimey.

Maybe so, but Madine is a centre forward tbf to Clough. Madine's shots/headers to goals conversion rate must be pitiful. If he was half as brave on the pitch, as he is off it with a few beers inside him, i'd wager that he would have doubled his goals tally. Zach Clough averages 2.7 shots per game, Madine 2.2
Feeney averaged 1.5 and scored as many league goals (as glad as I was when Gaz scored against mighty Eastleigh)
But bare stats don't tell the full story - Madine has missed some absolute shockers

Madina has missed opportunities which, with NO exaggeration, I'd have got ... now. He's redefined missing sitters.Burnden Paddock wrote:Maybe so, but Madine is a centre forward tbf to Clough. I get all the "you have to get to them to miss ghem" stuff, really I do but Christ on a bike some of them have made me gawp with awe & wonder.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Just out of interest, who is our leading scorer from open play?

Couple of FKs too?throwawayboltonian wrote:Probably Feeney or Madine. Most of Clough's have been penalties haven't they?Bijou Bob wrote:Just out of interest, who is our leading scorer from open play?
Aapparently of our 40 league goals 25 have been open play, 10 set-piece and 5 PKs. None - zero - on the counter-attack
