On reflection, I did use somewhat emotive language, however, I do suspect that there is a concerted plan to shout down any discussion of atrocities committed by Israel by shouting "Anti semite"! What's more, I suspect the plan is working.
Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.
Re: Muslims, racists, individuals and attitudes.
I dunno. It certainly happens, though I have some sympathy. If you almost certainly know and are part of families that either had members murdered our who fled murder in living memory and at the same time are constantly confronted by people who say Jews when they mean Israelis (often with no sinister intentions, it's just an easy slip given how the conflict it's pitched generally) then I can see how thoughts of anti semitism are never far under the surface. Doesn't make it right, but I don't think it's usually a conspiracy.
It's not helped by the double standards coming the other way. I think bobo maybe oversells the scale of it, there are plenty who would vigorously attack Israel whilst also condemning Hamas, but there are too many who won't. Case in point is that jeb-end Malia Bouttia who has just been elected NUS president. She was on channel 4 news last night and started by vigorously condemning Israel's actions in 2014. Fair enough. She was then asked outright, three times, if she had a problem with the state of Israel. Three times she answered that she had a problem with Israel breaching international law. Yes, fine, but do you have a problem with the existence of Israel? I have a problem with Israel's occupation of Palestine. Seconds later she was asked if she condemned the ticket rocket attacks Hamas. "That's not for me to comment on". That's not good enough.

And now Ken Livingstone has come along to prove yet again that there is no situation that wouldn't be improved by his input!
What does make me angry about all this is the farcical leadership of the Labour party, yet again. At the same time as a shadow minister is on tv calling for her to be suspended there is an announcement from the leadership that she won't be. Then there are stories her apology was diluted by head office. Then she is being suspended. Then loose canon Ken wages in with his two penneth worth.
David Cameron's team managed to turn a story about him f*cking a dead pig into a one day Twitter titter. Labour have managed to turn a story about a back bench MP saying something bad and apologising into a week dominating cluster f*ck.
I'm so glad we got rid of all those professional politicians.

^^ What a fiasco. If you took the worst possible view of what Livingtone said, John Mann's way of going about the conversation is like some sort of gangsta on heat, then again he is a Leeds supporter. I mean, really? What a cock-end.

Aye. The Labour party is led by amateurs and run by amateurs. People playing at politics. So, so frustrating. Whatever you say about the Mandelson's and Campbell's of this world they were incredible compared to the jokers there now.Prufrock wrote:And now Ken Livingstone has come along to prove yet again that there is no situation that wouldn't be improved by his input!

A Hindu tailor has been hacked to death in a district of central Bangladesh, police say, the latest of a number of Islamist killings in the country.
Nikhil Joarder, who was in his early 50s, was attacked as he sat outside his shop in Tangail on Saturday afternoon.
Police said he had been arrested in 2012 for allegedly making derogatory comments about Islam, then released.
Secular bloggers, academics, gay rights activists, and members of religious minorities including Shia, Sufi and Ahmadi Muslims, Christians and Hindus have all been killed, many of them hacked to death.
Or another.

Prof Rezaul Karim Siddique, 58, hacked to death in Rajshahi in attack similar to murders of other secular and atheist activists
Or perhaps.

In 2016 alone, there have been at least 710 Islamic attacks in 41 countries, in which 6837 people were killed and 8893 injured.
Still some say that Islam is a peaceful religion.

It is Malc if rightly interpreted and practised. It's the practitioners that aren't peaceful.malcd1 wrote: Still some say that Islam is a peaceful religion.

The common denominator is people acting in religion's name. The report describes 'untold thousands' being killed. It is the practitioners, not the principle who are to blame.

Re: Muslims, racists, individuals and attitudes.
The predominant religion today is that of "Thou shalt please thyself". It means do as you like but make sure you claim it's God's will. It's nothing new.

I try to shame and laugh at all religions equally but I consider some to be barbaric especially for blasphemy, insulting their god, being gay and following the wrong god.

Bangladesh is becoming one scary place for non-Muslims, homosexuals and activists. I suppose the answer is to succumb and covert to Islam.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

What's so very strange about all this is that the real top boys, back in headquarters in the heartland, who state that fact^ don't seem to have much control over the multi thousands who claim that peace is attained with AK 47s' and anyone who doesn't agree or doesn't want to join Islam gets their head removed by religious " warriors" in masks.bobo the clown wrote:Not possible. I know this was mentioned on the General Chit Chat thread but this latest attack in France is sickening. With so many lone wolves around how many hours or days do people think it will be before the next follower of Islam strikes again?
