the Leave campaign seems to have settled on depicting the referendum as a straight choice between staying in the EU or funding the NHS... we'll be building a new hospital EVERY WEEK!

also - gotta love the menacing Dad's Army arrows attacking Britain from Turkey et al. :D

They were just saying on Radio 4 that we spend 8% of GDP on the NHS whereas countries with better health services (I missed the name of the country) spends 11% on it's health service. Plans are to reduce ours to 7% by 2020, apparently.

More people living in the country means more taxes which should mean more money for the NHS, but when it's underfunded that doesn't work out. UKIP should be campaigning to stay in the EU and raise spending on the NHS to 11%!?

Are they saying they'd pump an extra £350m a week into the NHS? Have they outline the sort of things that receive EU funding that would lose out as a result? Or will that be 'ring fenced' and therefore will the NHS just receive the equivalent of the net contribution?

We have a government who philosophically don't want doctors and nurses to be paid properly or health services properly resourced. Because their mates are waiting behind the scenes to step in and run things for a tidy profit...

I don't thinbk they are actually saying anything - when pressed they say that it will be up to the UK govt to decide how to spend the (not really)£350m-a-week - cos we'll be regaining control!!

meanwhile - blazened on Boris's bus and on ads such as the one above they are bending over backwards to make it LOOK like it's a choice between the EU and spending it all on the NHS - except when talking about agriculture - in which case it will all be spent on replacing eu agriculture subsidies... etc...

today - it seems - they think that NHS isn't quite emotive enough - so it's CANCER DRUGS - if we vote to stay in we are voting against cancer drugs.... booooooo!

They're a set of lying chancers. Should we leave, they should be in accountable positions where they can make good on all the lies.

Indeed, should the NHS not be properly funded, perhaps in a climate of reduced tax revenues, rising inflation and unemployment, they would hopefully be well and truly fecked.

3,000,000 will be unemployed on the 24th,

We are safer in a Europe that allows terrorists to roam from country to country willy nilly,

All non genuine asylum seekers will be returned to Turkey from Greece, 800 so far since the scheme started, more have arrived daily.

No great shame in being stood up by her, at least she's not taking the p*ss like she did out of Cameron and the remainer's negotiations

ahhhh... so we are voting to give money to the Cancer Drugs Fund now? :conf:

No one has said 3,000,000 will be unemployed on the 24th - anywhere - apart from you.

given that we are all against lies...

can you point to a quote from anyone (apart from yourself - or me in quoting you) who has said that 3,000,000 will be unemployed on the 24th?

edit: ahh - apologies - hadn't read to the end to see worthy point out the same thing...

anyway - answer the question, if you would, hobes...

I'm not sure why you'd quote my post about voting for cancer drugs in order to introduce something entirely different other than as a purely diversionary ruse? Do you think it's OK to leaflet hospitals with vague suggestions that voting to leave will be a vote for cancer drugs?? what is it that you find hilarious about that, exactly??

I think there is a reasonable enough argument to be made that staying in the eu offers more competition between businesses across Europe and potentially means lower prices in UK shops, cheaper flights and lower energy bills - don't you? You might disagree - but the idea is not laughably ridiculous whatever the source...

I don't know about 3,000,000 but to be fair many in the remain group have been making differing claims on how many jobs are dependent on Europe.

Likewise a vote for Leave is a vote for Putin

I'm still in the Remain camp for purely egoistic reasons, but like it or not, there are legitimate questions around the effect of a further 5 or so countries joining the EU and what that will mean for migration, security and the allocation of resources.
